Yes, unless you are playing with other new players.  It
is essential to get info on starting positions, opponent
positions, etc.

Free People have better economies and a better chance of
winning, IMHO.  Dark Servants have better characters and
artifacts.  The Elves are the exception, with the best
characters and artifacts.  Neutrals can wait and negotiate,
and often build up into monster positions.

If it's close, not too many people will drop.  But in a blowout
people start dropping real quick.
