Looking for players From: ac829@FreeNet.Carleton.CA (Andrew Hopkinson) Date: Mon, 29 Aug 1994 22:57:53 +0000 Hi there, I am currently looking for replacement players for a game I am running (which I co-created) called castlerock. Castlerock is a multiplayer wargame in a mideaval setting. I have run 10 turns and am planning to start over after turn 12 in victory points ONLY. Which means that everyone will keep their land they have conquered. Some players will not be able to continue however. If you like LOTS of rules (it's not fully automated) and don't mind being a newbie in a game with lots of fairly experience players, then you might like this game. I will probably balance it so newbies get more starting money. Turns are every 2 weeks and I will be charging $3/turn although the first couple turns will be free for newbies. In order to play you will need: 1) maps of Castlerock (left and right side) 2) a larger scale exploration map 3) rules The maps are at the following ftp site:ftp.cp.tn.tudelft.nl in the \pub\pbm_old\Castlerock directory. They are in 2 formats, postscript and gif. The postscript versions have .ps and the gifs have .gif. There is 2 sides to each map, left and right. Both the gifs and ps versions are zipped using the unix compressor gzip. To unzip, type gunzip <filename>. The exploration map and updated rules, you will have to get from me. Send a message to ahopkins@ccs.carleton.ca. The game is quite good although, as mentioned, the rules are pretty hefty (although not that complicated). -- +------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Andrew Hopkinson | "Man proposes God disposes." | | ac829@Freenet.Carleton.Ca | -A famous person | +------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Up
