Galaxy Hall of Fame innacuracies ? Help Please ! From: graeme@abekrd.co.uk (Graeme Griffiths) Date: Fri, 14 Oct 1994 14:23:12 +0000 Ladies and Gentlemen, I realise its probably a little late for corrections but I'm attempting to make keeping the Galaxy Hall of Fame and Infamy a little easier, to wit I'm writing a program that accepts a game result and produces the next Hall.. file. This is being done also to allow me to use the same data to produce an HTML version as well as the normal version and a top-ten etc. The problem I have is that on scanning the current Hall.. I get confused with some of the results (Zeus, Rob G1 and others) there are multiple winners which is O.K. but in my book all winners should receive the same points from an alliance victory and according to the Hall... they don't. Was some sort of deal cooked up here ? It all sounds a bit sad bearing in mind my program works just fine and I was about to launch the first automated hall !! Anyone remember what happened ? Is it clerical error ? If I get no satisfactory answers in a week or so I'll produce the new hall by inputting all the listed winners of each game and letting the program call the points, I don't think it would change much but maybe a few people would be upset. Let me know. Coming soon.... my galaxy WWW page (its nearly done) with the new improved HoF, an HTML version of the 3.5 rules, the current running games list (which is a little sparse I have to say, input please GM's) and much much more (or at least some pictures of planets 8-). Coming later... my very own galaxy server (I may even resurrect the GPDG list folks !) with (hopefully) some spiffy games running. -- Graeme Griffiths, | "I'd love to talk philosophy, but I gotta Abekas Video Systems +44 734 585421| take a piss.
