Description:

Lost in Space is guided adventure about a large tramp freighter, the SS
Windstar, and destroyer, USS Raptor�s Revenge, from an advanced
civilization that has lost its way during an emergency jump through E
Space.	The SS Windstar, in truth, is mercenary vessel with a history long
enough that it has long since been paid off and no longer needed to
constantly risk the life of its crew.  The crew is practically a family
after all the years they have spent in space.  Most of their costs were in
maintenance and fuel.  They often took on passengers or odd jobs out of
sheer boredom.	At other times they did a little prospecting.

Well even advanced civilizations have their wars.  The SS Windstar was
caught in a skirmish as they tried to leave the battlefront with a handful
of refugees and passengers being evacuated.  Captain Jonathan Wolfe
commands the SS Windstar.  He could be likened to the grizzled old captain
from the Space Cruiser Yamato series.

The Raptor�s Revenge is commanded by a tough-as-nails Colonel Shiara
N�tanga.  This is an NPC vessel that will serve to bolster forces during
military operations.  It was badly damaged during the jump and lost a
number of crew.  It was pulling an escort role and served as a living
shield against attacks during the exodus.  It was pulled along in the wake
of the jump.  Shiara is no fool.  She knows there is no way her ship will
ever make it back without technical support.  And the Windstar was
equipped for exploration.  Plus it has a mining processor.  In her book
that puts Wolfe in command until the situation turns military.	The
Raptor�s Revenge has worked with the Windstar in the past.

Players will fill the roles of the passengers.	Some may have been onboard
before the evacuation.	Some may have been caught on planet during the
attack.  It really isn�t important who the attackers were.  It isn�t
intended to come into play.  The passengers may be HUMAN or genetically
modified humans.  (If you can�t walk among humans with simple disguise
work, you will be cut out of most adventures.)	GURPS 3rd edition will be
used, but very loosely.  Point values may vary widely.	I am interested
far more in roleplay than points.  Player tech levels will be TL 13-14.
The natives in the nearby star sectors of the galaxy where the lost ships
arrive will be TL 0 to 12.  TL 0 is the Stone Age.  TL 7 is the Modern Era
(1951 to 2000).  TL 8 and 9 are the Cyberpunk eras and early starflight
era.  TL 10 is the standard default for science fiction games.	TL 11
introduces force screens.  TL 12 introduces Gravitic technology.  TL 13
makes earlier technologies available for personal use and World building.
TL 14 is the Dysonian Era.  Yes, players understand the technology of
hyperdense materials, ringworlds, etc.	(TL 15+ is temporal technology and
transporter technology � which players won�t have.)
