I have - my Monger, Yomra, spent a long time travelling through Jungle, just before and after getting a curved machete. Four turns of solid Jungle were enough to wreck his haversuit (15APs lost) without the Machete. Since then the Haversuit has been fine, and he's been in Jungle for 8-10 turns, though not solidly. Machetes also get you into Tainted Hollows and Sunken Graveyards, and are not always easy to get a second time. If there's one item you don't throw away, it's your Curved Machete . . .
