[PBEM News] Permanent Midnight: Join the Struggle

NYC, Present Day

I think as humans we always knew that we weren�t alone; that it wasn�t
the dark we were afraid of or fascinated by, but what lay within that
dark.  There was a part of us that believed in the legends and
fairytales, the myths of our ancestors.  They, the Chimaera, stopped
hiding ages ago and our fantasies or nightmares came true.  Vampires,
witches, faeries, shapeshifters, demons, you name it: they are real.

For the most part we all coexist peacefully.  Some of the Chimaera
even outshine the best Hollywood starlet these days.  It helps that
they have to live by our rules and laws as well as those of their
Queen.  Sure there have been ups and downs, aren�t there always, and
a few major incidents and battles, but it�s been relatively calm the
past seven years.

Of course nothing prepared us for what happened two months ago.  It
started with an ancient prophecy and an ancient temple rising from
the ground in Central Park.  It ended with a coup.  Now everything is
uncertain. What is in that temple?  What does it mean? Will Queen
Noblesse regain her throne?  Or will it have a new ruler?  What will
that mean for the rest of us?

The Chimaera clans are fighting, choosing sides and making bids for
the empty throne.  For the first time in my life I�m afraid of them
and afraid for the human race.  I guess it�s time to choose sides for
everyone.  Which side are you on?

KINDRED (Vampires)
Gitanne Noblesse�s middle sister: Part of the ruling family,
daywalker, heavy magic ties. Hasn�t chosen sides.  Stays neutral,
tends to have more loyalty to the Chimaera rather than just her kind
or her clan if forced to choose. Currently: Antigone (Salma Hayek)

Gitanne Noblesse�s Youngest Sister: Hates Gitanne and wishes to keep
her off the throne by any means necessary. Currently: Medea (Keri
Russell)

King of the Diablo Clan: very much like a mob boss; recently lost his
wife due to Katita Talamasca. Currently: Dominic (Gabriel Byrne)

Queen of the Giovanni:  Lady of Chimaeran society; other than her
husband she is the oldest living vampire. Currently: Marie (Grace
Kelly)

King of the Giovanni: Oldest living vampire and one of the most
powerful; tends to stay neutral when it comes to politics; seen as a
peacekeeper.  Currently: Nicholas (Patrick Stewart)

Pureblood son of the Giovanni King and Queen:  Wild child; believes
that the Giovanni should take their rightful power and position
back�by any means. Currently: Quincy (Barry Watson)

SEELIE COURT (Fey, Shining Court, Sidhe)
Queen Maeve�s Sister and Ian�s Mother: Former lover of Roarke
Bellemorte. Currently: Laurana (Michelle Pfeiffer)

Maeve�s daughter: heiress to the Seelie throne; detests Roarke and the
Dark court and though seems fragile and fair has both power and a
hidden agenda; vows to find her father�s killer. Currently: Lily (Mia
Sara)

Captain of the Guard: Was one of Roarke Bellemorte�s prot�g�s; Maeve�s
sometime lover and possible future consort and King. Currently: Rohan
(Julian MacMahon)

Various Seelie characters

UNSEELIE COURT (Fey, Dark Court, Sidhe)
Captain of the Guard: King of the Sluagh (aka Wild Hunt); Roarke�s
best friend; enforcer/executioner for the dark court. Currently:
Frost (Johnny Depp)

Various Unseelie Characters: male or female; some who support Roarke
fully and others who believe that his consort may be right and are
willing to push/persuade Roarke towards the right direction

TALAMASCA (Witches)
King: father of Natalie and Dante; trying to prevent his daughter from
dying; wants nothing but the best for his family; unwilling to go to
war with the Diablo; has the closest ties to humanity. Currently:
Gregory (Anthony Hopkins)

Queen: mother of Natalie and Dante; knows a key is vital; tries to
keep the Talamasca together and willing to go to war to protect them.
Currently: Julia (Julianne Moore)

Various Talamasca characters: male or female; some who support a war
with the Diablo and others who do not; Hands of power are tied to the
Elements.

FERANTI (Witches � necromancers)
Second in Command: the Talamascan King�s brother; loves power in any
form; hasn�t chosen sides, but only because no one has offered yet.
Currently: Rasputin (Armand Assante)

Leader: Brother to Natalie Talamasca, youngest son of Talamascan king
and queen; killed Marius and took his power/memories; dangerous if he
makes a bid for power. Currently: Dante (Ryan Phillipe)

Various Feranti: male or female; some who are loyal to Bethany Feranti
and others who are loyal to the current leader; All are necromancers
and have diablerized another Chimaera at some point so have to deal
with another�s memories and powers.

SHAPESHIFTERS:
Prince of Cats: rules the cats; is torn between keeping the shifters
united and creating his own offshoot for no cat should be ruled by a
canine. Currently: Keil (John Cusack)

Various Cats: Nimra (Mate of Prince of Cats/Leopard), Regina/Rex
(Leaders of the Lions)

Various Wolves (Pack): Bolverk (Enforcer), Lupa (Lucien�s Mate)

Various Birds (Flock), Reptiles (Knot), Bears and other shifters

HUMANS:
Head of Security for the Council: female; former cop; also a Council
chair; head of the Chimaeran Crime Force and best friends with Thomas
Gunn. Currently: Alex Nguyen (Michelle Yeoh)

Gunn: Gunn is our storyteller.  A well known reporter Thomas Gunn is
the reluctant voice of humanity when it comes to the Council.  He
knows both sides rather well and has had a long time crush on the
heiress Natalie Talamasca. (Brad Pitt)

politician; one man who is out for his own interests and no other

Doyle Andrew�s Nurse: In love with Doyle; heals not only the shifters,
