ME-2950: Riddle From: millera@MCS.COM (Alan Miller) Date: Fri, 09 Dec 1994 15:57:00 +0000 I'm posting this for someone else who got this riddle, so there may be a few typos since I don't have the original. I suspect the answer's in the Silmarillion, but I don't have a copy of it that I can get to, so any suggestions are very welcome... It is of the ancient form, And tells of those of the three houses, They who fought the dark 'til ne'er lost, Who risked all with their brothers no matter the cost. A heroic voyage enabled them to survive the dire test, And in return were gladly given the West. Obviously the 'they' is the Elves when they first came to the West, but what is it that "tells of those of the three houses?" ajm -- Alan Miller \\ millera@mcs.com AJM's WWW page Referenced By Up
