What are the exact properties of Strion? I know the rulebook states that it speeds up factory production, but I'm curious as to what the stuff looks like and how exactly does it speed up production? Is it like a frictionless oil that lets the machinery operate faster or what? Is it like a frictionless oil that lets the >machinery operate faster or what? > Strion is a catalyst that allows the more efficient use of raw materials. It not only could be used to improve factory production but, back when the SNITS could move and the GLYNIAN was still around, it could be used to extend the use of the FIS fuel for those ships as well (100FIS + 1 strion into the fuel hopper = 110 FIS fuel on the fuel gage). Chip Charnley ------------------------------ From: Jackmyster@aol.com Date: Tue, 3 Jan 1995 19:50:05 -0500 Subject: BSE: War? <ooc> First, I am sorry for all the BSE readers *not* interested in the FGZ/IMP situation...but I feel this information is important to *everyone* who deals with the IMPs...please humor a little longer. Steve, although it is "heresy" what you have been quoted as saying is that "It would be easier for me to "blow up" the colony than re-capture it..." Now, although Mike is not that reliable, I do believe him here...is he lying? What I have said is that the FGZ/SSL will work this out, you do not get involved, once Jason has got his act together, we'll get it squared away...no biggy. As to the battle reports, the FGZ have *never* engaged any IMP positions, save the freighter: "An ISP DN opens fire on an intruding enemy vessel..." 194.47 "A group of ITS warships detect an intruding FGZ ship..." 194.51 BOTH ships were unarmed Scouts...Boy, that's glory, huh? Tell me Steve, are the FGZ posted in the Per? Is there a state of war between us, currently? IF NOT than I demand you follow IMP law and post the offending ships for piracy...unless of coarse you do not need to follow IMP law.... I don't care what "your deal" states...the only "published profile" of the FGZ states that it is illegal to sell photon's to anyone outside of the FGZ...in short, as always, MP changed the rules to make the IMPs stronger. (and even "if" it were legal, no one could buy them for 266 each!) I had a deal with Jim G. to buy colonists for 1 steller each, you going to honor that one? Mike K. will be stepping down as Ataman this month...maybe this week...I have had no knowledge of his actions until after he has done them...hold the FGZ responsible if you want, but if you attack a government based on the actions of one player...you will be setting a precedence that will have to be enforced . Do you understand what I am saying? Alan, I don't have my stuff handy, but as an aside hint, if you have any of the material, you can ask the GM to give you the blurb on it as a special action. This is a good way to check items that are unfamiliar to you. Be seeing you, Jeff ------------------------------ From: PROTHORAX@aol.com Date: Tue, 3 Jan 1995 20:25:29 -0500 Subject: Re: BSE: WCE Port Augustus (3... (ooc) The game and history will go forward and if one wishs to push the envolpe, great! Most players who made history in the past were the ones pushing the envolpe then?! Remember? Go for it Port Augustus the hordes will try to clip your wings! >< >< >< >< >< >< ------------------------------ From: steve668@dallas.relay.ucm.org Date: Tue, 3 Jan 1995 22:20:00 CST Subject: BSE: War? Jack, Your demand for posting of the IMP ships for Piracy is denied. Need I remind you that Imperial law states that the Periphery is the exclusive property of the Emperor, and that travel within the Periphery is granted as a privilege. The FGZ hold neither a valid Charter (only given to companies) nor a valid Visa. Under such circumstances, FGZ ships are trespassing. *IF* such circumstances were to change, then you would have a valid case, if an incident occured AFTER the change. In any case, both yourself & Mikey were personally warned to avoid all IMP colonies and ship concentrations, as the older stuff may still have the FGZ on their enemy list/s from the last time (a couple of years ago). I have no intention of running turns for every IMP position (active or not) to remove an affil. from an enemy list... just economically not wise. >...the published profile of the FGZ.... Understand the difference between the TH FGZ & the Per. FGZ. Your FGZ profile applies to the TH FGZ. The Per. FGZ are essentially a different group and under different profile (as created by MP). Yes, Mikey pulled a fast one by taking advantage of RTG's ignorance of the difference, and taking control of the colony. And, yes, ABM screwed up by not informing RTG in the first place. I've no problem with the control of Flagritzville now under TH FGZ, either... although i've lost respect for Mikey for playing in that way. Now, whatever you may think, the deal was made, and not just in writing but on a turn results printout. And, if you'll notice in the AFT ICR, Flagritzville was selling Photon Guns to everyone, not just IMP. so your complaint doesn't hold water. > I had a deal with Jim G. to buy colonists.... Imperial law states that colonists cannot be "hired" to any non-human affiliation. To do so is considered slavery. I could not honor his deal even if you produced written proof of it, but you already knew this since you've been around long enough. > ...hold the FGZ responsible if you want... Like I said before, I'm the one dissenting vote holding back a war. I'm taking you at your word, and giving you the time you asked for, in spite of Mikey's little stunts. In return, I expect you to honor your word. Now, I said last time that I wouldn't respond publicly to this anymore, and am only doing so now because you insisted on it. May we now return this to private mail? In fact this time *I* insist on it. Steve ------------------------------ From: "Middleton, Charles" <cmiddlet@SSBPOST.env.gov.bc.ca> Date: Tue, 03 Jan 1995 21:53:00 -0800 (PST) Subject: BSE: SMS @ Hoylex The boredoom was coming to an end! Thank the stars thought Lord Mckenzie, it had been a long time in coming, but the end was in sight. As he surveyed the marshalling depot at SMS ROMP he was pleased to see how far the SMS Highland Division had come. The 3rd Airborne Highland Regiment had already dispatched 2 battalions to the dead moon of Hoylex with the rest soon to follow. The 12th Armoured Highland Regiment had dispatched a battalion and the rest were boarding the waiting ships, while the 33rd AIRCAV Regiment were loading into their carriers for preperation for the battle drop. The RIP had been kind in suppling those 3 Merchantman to use move the Highland Division reflected Lord McKenzie. Also providing the Corsair and Pocket Battleship for escort wasn't bad either. He reminded his aide to send a Thank you note to Lord Powell Horn. Thinking back to 6 weeks ago how the SMS had been caught unaware when time had stopped/started/stopped and then started again, we lost a lot equipment that day but not a single soldier was lost. In fact the Scot's Revenge was able to pull back re-group and get resupplied with such speed that in the following two weeks they were able to capture RIP Colony Hello There, with minimal losses after a short but fierce 1 round battle. Catching both a RIP Survey Cruiser and an AFT Surveyor unaware. A smile came to his face as he reread the reports of the RIP engaging in colony to colony battles with SMS RIP BASHER2. The "Outpost" or OutHouse as know by the colonists had no weapons but was still being bombarded by the RIP. Finally the RIP was able to take the colony after a fierce ground battle in which the RIP engaged a colony with no colonists, no weapons and 80 colony structures and 10 life supports. The smile grew as waved to Lord Haw Haw commander of the 1st Assualt Wave, with over 45,000 Mu's of equipment being dropped at one time by ships this would be the largest movement of Ground Forces by ship in a single action. The preperations for this event had been enourmous and they were nearly complete. As he watched, Lord Haw Haw manuevered his Air Mobile HQ into the waiting Merchantman. 1-Minute to go. Time seem to stand still again as he watched the numbers count down.
