samurai armies; players wanted desperately From: jabmalin@dingo.cc.uq.oz.au (Bret Malinas) Date: Wed, 11 Jan 1995 02:21:19 +0000 I am starting up a game called Bushido, based in Japan. The aim of the game is to defeat the old Shogun's armies and capture Edo and Kyoto. The player types available are shogunate general, daimyo, assassin or ninja, and samurai etc. The turns are every one and a half months. The most important aspect of the game is building a financial base to build armies. This can be done by aggressive policy of invading your neighbour or more peacefully through the ignoble use of merchant tactics (this is frowned upon by samurai). I need some money from you to send the rules, as some of the game is through the post. But I'll try to use email as much as possible. Things are a bit slow, so I'll start by giving players a few mock battles to learn the techniques of warfare and how the game works. To get the rules and first few turns if they need to go through the mail, send 5 dollars US or 5 dollars Australian to: Bret Malinas Dept of Japanese and Chinese Studies University of Queensland St Lucia Qld 4072 Australia Yours sincerely, Bret.
