SMS PD, Doug Wampler (ally of the GTT) ------------------------------ From: Kerry Harrison <kerry@io.com> Date: Sat, 7 Jan 1995 10:49:12 -0600 (CST) Subject: BSE: KGB Acquires EEM From: KriegerGruppe 71470.344@compuserve.com Financial circles throughout the Inner Empire have been buzzing with news of a massive corporate move. Then during Wk 50/194, the Imperial Throne announced that the House of Krieger will acquire management control of the EEM's Periphery operations], and rename it Empire Engineering & Manufacturing. Among the changes: His Excellency, Lord Stu Krieger (Wayne Alexander), will take over the reins as PD after the retirement of the esteemed Lord Darien, effective Wk 05/195. Dr. Noa Krieger (Jim Gagliardi), managing science director of KGB Labs, will take over as Director of Research/Engineering. Adm. Arn Krieger (Phil Breault), COO of KGB Transport, will take over as Director of Transport. Vice Adm Jay Seafeather (Phil Breault), ISP retired, will assume command as Director of Security. Lady Maddie Mallard (Vickie Lloyd), famed publisher and public relations guru, will assume the office of Director of Marketing. It was learned only weeks ago that the Imperial Throne had approved the sale of the Periphery-based operations of the GTT to the House of Krieger for a reported 100 million stellars. The KGB abandoned negotiations when it learned that the current Periphery GTT management had plans and views inconsistent with KGB goals. It had been rumored that the KGB was initially interested in the EEM, but was steered towards the GTT by the Kaiser himself. Wall Street watchers became aware of the EEM as the target for KGB acquisition when limoflitters full of bean counters and securities lawyers descended on EEM HQ in Silicon Valley. Lord Byrus Gates, Galactic PD of the Inner Empire EEM, announced that the sale was a bonanza for EEM stockholders and that the Inner Empire EEM was looking forward to the new partnership and joint venture with the House of Krieger. ------------------------------ From: Jackmyster@aol.com Date: Sat, 7 Jan 1995 12:50:57 -0500 Subject: BSE: War? Jeff, Thanks for letting me know. I was not told that by Mike. I am unaware of any FGZ ships in the Per. right now, but I will pass the info. along just in case. I would also suggest *for now* that the IMPs do not enter orbit of any FGZ colonies. Things are in a "flux" right now, and tensions are high on both our sides. Perhaps a "conferance" between you, me, and Steve on AOL or CIS might be in order? (any other BSE players are welcomed) I really would like to defuse this deal before we really come to "blows". As of today, I've not recieved "offical" word that I have been named Ataman, but that is pretty much only a matter of time. Mike has/will not call me back.(?) But, as I'm sure you have gathered by now, I'm in control of the FGZ and it's players. (minus a couple of colonies.) It is still unclear at this point as to whether or not I will keep the FGZ one Republic, or break off the Per. and give it to Dan Fisher. Either way, Dan will more than likely be responacable for what happens out there, but for now, (to keep things simple) deal with me... Have you any idea who is responsible? Were there no battle reports? Didn't you have any warships on garrison at the gate? I have heard an unsubstaniated rumor that the FGZ blew the Limond gate but no word on these other gates. How does the Emperor feel about your claim of Newbian? And how does a company claim a system anyhow? Does the GTT consider itself a government these days? Lloyd ------------------------------ From: David Isaac <76170.2705@compuserve.com> Date: 07 Jan 95 15:31:06 EST Subject: BSE:AFT ship Lord McKenzie Sir, I am less concerned with the fate of the AFT Surveyor then I am with what seemed to be the SMS acting as a law enforcement agency. However, I can understand in the heat of battle attacking all ships in an enemy starport as only prudent. Although I would have prefered wording to the effect of "detained for questioning" as opposed to "captured", this may be hair splitting. No one can deny that the ship in question was in the wrong place at the wrong time (OOC: and as it happens, had been for about a year. Run by a dropped newbie trying to go RIP). We are not interested in the return of the ship, compensation nor your kind offer of an apology. In fact, WE should apologize for the apparent stupidity that lead to your finding one of our ships in a RIP colony (OOC: Jeez...Saints preserve us from newbies!). In any event, congratulations on your victory and thank you for your prompt reply. We have official acknowledgement of our claim to Newbian and two other systems, however, transfer has not been made official yet. >And how does a >company claim a system anyhow? The IMP asked all PDs to make a list in order of preference of systems that they would like to claim, and they would be granted three. >Does the GTT consider itself a government these >days? When we are officially transferred these systems, we will be a quasi-governmental organization while within those star systems and well as any non-periphery star system we may control. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ... We are not trying to steal players, but we are in need of EXPERIENCED players to join the QSN. New QSN can expect to be provided assets in line with their interests. We have too many assets and need smart players to control them. The QSN is a growing affliation that is often at the center of the action. We anticipate activity involving the QSN to increase in the coming months. There will be opportunities to give that battle program a work out. Also, we have some special research/exploration projects that are a priority. The QSN is a tight group of players. We are at a point where we can usually offer assets to players that they are looking for. It makes more sense to us that you are using our new Cargo Master ship to carry supplies vs some dinky Merchantman for example. But the QSN demand loyalty in return for our trust. If you think you can work closely and take on significant responsibilities, please email or call me at 510-644-3708 and we can discuss it in more detail. Richard W.
