The ISS held a press conference today at Secudus, to announce the exploratory findings of the ISS Relentless-2. A vid-com patch to Adm. S.D. Baldwin aboard the ISS ship was established: <film footage> "... preliminary data shows that the moon orbiting the planet Jingles in Einstein is in the process of breaking up. Physics lab analysis indicates that the fragments of this moon will collapse onto the planet's surface after breakup. It was decided by the ISS HQ to announce this publicly, so that all sentient beings would be aware of the danger, when the moon enters it's final stages of breakup. <reporter from the Bome Times-Herald> Adm. Baldwin, is there any indication as to what is causing the breakup? <Baldwin> Yes. Our research has revealed that the moon was a rogue moon which had been captured into the orbit of Jingles. However, the orbital path was unstable, and this inflicted tremendous strain on the moon. The strains caused the extreme danger to landing that all ships would experience. <reporter from the AP Wire Service> Adm. Baldwin, is there any indication as to when this event will occur? <Baldwin> Yes. Preliminary data suggests that the breakup will occur around week 45 of this year. However, keep in mind that this data is preliminary only, and that it would be wise to give a plus/minus 1 month window to be on the safe side. We are still running tests to pin down the exact date of the breakup. I will make a full disclosure to the Capellan Periphery Times, when we know more precise information. I advise that all ships wanting to visit this moon do so now, but evacuate before the breakup. I have much work to get back to at this time. I will make a full interview with the CPT, later." Adm. Baldwin has served with the ISS since 181. His accomplishments are recognized by both human and alien alike, and are recorded in the anals of History. It seems that Adm. Baldwin has made another historic discovery. Joe Bob Briggs UPI News - --------------------------------------- OOC: Adm. Baldwin is the character belonging to: David Sweet (yes, he's still around). He doesn't have a PC, so he asked for this to be posted. He'll make a more complete "interview" in the CPT... once we figure out who's running it... Shannon or RTG. ------------------------------ From: Kerry Harrison <kerry@io.com> Date: Fri, 6 Jan 1995 10:23:44 -0600 (CST) Subject: Re: BSE: Questions Questions Questions On Fri, 6 Jan 1995, Richard Chiang wrote: > Anyone have any idea what stargates are currently working?? The RIP are still not going public with the locations of all their colonies. This colony RIP Hello There was a class 5 and was hidden and therefore was only know to very few in the SMS and even less outside of the SMS. 2. When we attacked the starport we attacked all the ships present. The AFT Surveyor was there and was captured along with other RIP Ships. 3. I am forwarding the results to the IMP's. I don't want this this ship, and I will hand it over to the IMP's if you want it back go ask them. If the IMP's rule that the ship had not broken any law's then you can hold me accountable for the attack on the ship, and I will provide compensation and an apology as well. Are postings such as "All Imperial Posted Ships" triggering battles?? I have been given conflicting information. 2. Position numbers get recycled. For example, I have just gotten a ship with a position number below 10!!. My question is that if you post someone by their position number and it gets recycled, will the new ship/GP/colony trigger the posted list of someone who has the old position number posted or does the position creation program go back and clean up the posted list? ------------------------------ From: Phil Krauskopf <pkrauskopf@FALCON.AAMRL.WPAFB.AF.MIL> Date: Fri, 06 Jan 1995 20:31:37 -0400 Subject: BSE: Stargate Tech Thad and Pete, I just double-checked, and in the 1991 BSE Newsletter Compendium, it states explicitly that ALL affiliations may now build stargates, and that stargate keys were no longer required. Just got a turn back yesterday, and it appears the Newbian Stargate is now down (I tried gating from Newbian, which appears to work.) I'm very POed as Newbian System is claimed by GTT, and the StarGate is one square from Petroom which holds the GTT Headquarters. If its loss is due to an attack by any affiliation they will be posted by GTT and all GTT allies. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ...
