The ITS Sterling Silver (1404), Capt. Josef Rodute commanding, picksup on it's long range scanners what appears to be an IMP Dreadnaught. Unable to open communications with it, the close for a closer look. As they close to visual range they note the number and name of the ship painted upon it's hull, Canberra (2887). They captain immediately has one of his officers run a check on the name and number through the IMP ship registery. Officer - Captain, this is one of the ships believed to be destroyed by our fleet in the Jovian battles of a year ago, it looks like it was only derelicted instead of destroyed. Captain - Close for a closer look and keep trying to establish communications. Officer - Sir, we are receiving a weak transmission from the ship, it appears to be an ISP battle code that has not been used for almost 2 years. Captain - It looks like there may be some survivors. We know that the FOE love to take prisoners, maybe some of our guys actually managed to make it. Move in closer and prepare to dock. Officer - Sir, the ship has just feed power into it's shields and it appears to powering up it's weapons. Captain - Sound red alert. Get power to all weapons immediatley. If the reports about the previous battles are true we may still be able to take her. FOE ship - This RADM Jay Seafeather of the FOE Canberra. Power down your weapons and prepare to be boarded and we will spare 7 out of every ten of your crew. Captain - OH MY GOD, it's really him. I met the RADM once after he spoke at a seminar on ship-to-ship tactics. The reports of his rescue must have been false. Officer - There firing sir. What should we do? Captain - Return fire and pray. FOE Canberra fired at the ITS Sterling Silver's MAIN SECTION 200 Photon guns - 200 hits - 4000 damage 123 Positron guns - 123 hits - 1230 damage ITS Sterling Silver fired at the FOE Canberra's MAIN SECTION 26 Photon guns - 25 hits - 500 damage (Shield = 2100/2000/0) ITS Sterling Silver BLOWS UP! It is the new friends and family program. The only people you want to put on the list is other MCI customers. It is called the New Friends and Family program. If you spend over 30 or 50 dollars (i forget) a month, you get 30% off for non-MCI people and 50% for MCI customers on your list. So the only people you want to put on is MCI customers as non MCI customers get the same discount whether you are MCI or not. It is something under .09 or so for a call long distance at night rates :) Richard W. Chiang PS. Anyone know of a better deal. Of course the bastards don't automatically move everyone to this new program. You need to call and get moved from whatever MCI program you are on. The phone number for them is 1800-950-5555. This is not an advertisment. Instead it is feeble attempt on my part to save on my long distance bill. BTW, if you have MCI, and I talk to you at all, tell me. We can both save together. All you others might want to consider MCI. Maybe we should band together and get even cheaper rates :) ------------------------------ End of BSE Digest V1 #51 ************************ To subscribe to bse-digest, send the command: subscribe bse-digest in the body of a message to "Majordomo@io.com".
