RTG might define it differently. At the very end, ABM defined a pleasure slave as a sentient being forcibly pressed into the service of.... shall we say personal gratification of the owner?.... such as a harem girl, or the white slave trade in the far East. So that I can determine if pleasure slaves are legal or illegal by IMP law, Thad or Pete, would you please state here how RTG defines a pleasure slave? Steve M. (aka ISP PD) ------------------------------ From: MLadley@aol.com Date: Fri, 20 Jan 1995 17:30:48 -0500 Subject: BSE: new players I am a new player seeking advice. As a new player my goals are quite broad: learn as much as I can about BSE, get rich, become powerful, communicate with other players, grow with the game and most of all have fun. What I'd like to see is a solicitation by affiliations for new players to join their affiliation. I would hope that experienced players as well as affiliation top brass will correspond and tell new players: why should we join your affiliation? what do we have to gain by doing so as opposed to joining another? Thanks for the help... One of my jobs is to contact new members of our affiliation, and new BSE players in general. Some weeks ago I sent a letter to the GM's, who said they would forward copies to all new players when they joined the game. Did you receive such a document from them? It is from Baltazar Hepto, USS Info Coordinator, and should have the USS Info Office logo on the top. If you didn't recieve it I would very much appreciate you telling me so, so that I can send you a copy, and harass the GMs. Welcome to BSE! george hammond On Fri, 20 Jan 1995 MLadley@aol.com wrote: > I am a new player seeking advice. Forget about the profiles. They are out of date. For those players who are interested in mostly role playing, the profiles are more relevant. If you are interested in growing and becoming a power player, then pay attention to how the affliation is doing. Don't worry about what they can give you now. Pay more attention to the people in the affliation and whether they have the assets and personality to help you achieve your goals. Maybe I have mispoke. I have noticed that some of the affliations do match their affliation profile a little more. The AFT is really a liberal with their players (and often have one or two who might be crossing the line a little). The GTT does have huge colonies and a large production base. The Imperials are really hmm imperial. The SMS is concerned with mining issues and have some nice deposits. As for gathering information, I would be glad to mail you the old Imperial Database which would give you an idea how large this game is even though it is really out of date. As for specific affliations, I would ask you to consider the QSN. I think we would be considered a strong affliation. At least people seem to worry when we go around. I will email separately about this There are three basic playing areas in the game: the Periphery, the Transhole and the Trans-Canally Region. I would say that the Transhole is currently the most interesting. With a resurging SAM and WCE interesting thing seem to be in store. Of course a possible FGZ-PFM war gives you that slight edge that makes life worth living. The Periphery though is still the center of the game. The Trans-Canally is a region of space that non TCA races have little or no info on so there may be lots of interesting stuff there. Hope that helps Richard W. Chiang If you would like to call, my number is 510-644-3708. I am willing to give you some semi-honest advice about the different affliations and the game. Just take my QSN info with a grain a salt. The most important thing is that you have a good time and help make BSE a more interesting place. ------------------------------ From: Kerry Harrison <kerry@io.com> Date: Fri, 20 Jan 1995 21:36:55 -0600 (CST) Subject: Re: BSE: Pleasure Slaves On Fri, 20 Jan 1995, Paul Schneider wrote: > > Well, if they aren't really slaves, RTG should rename em to something > else -- adult entertainment workers? > Nah, just call'em Entertainers. Mine always come in crooked as well. I have had problems with MS Write doing that on Macs. I would assume Write does it on real computers as well, but I prefer Word Perfect, so have never tried it on my 486. What do you use to compile your lists with Kerry? I've yet to get straight columns. Oh well, it ain't pretty, but you get the picture.
