That would certainly control our own use of bandwith, but I'm not sure I
would wish to dredge through all of pbm just to find our recent digest.
And then there is the problem that many newsreaders, like mine, tend to
crash when you download too large of a file (which a digest might become
if it were representative of the traffic on this list).  Organization by
threads would also be a problem.

There exist Usenet/E-mail gateway services -- I recently cleared out my

Now there is an idea.  New messages could easily be posted by those without
newsgroup access (E-mail/Usenet gateways also exist, and are simpler
than the reverse described above), and replies would come to thim in one
daily mail bannered ATLANTIS NEWS POSTINGS for 21 January 1995, or such.

Mind you, the Usenet/E-mail gateway services may provide enough of that
functionality already.
