Eric Ziemer who is now married (!!) to Barbara Ziemer. Yep. Last time I check they were a couple and now it is official. Eric Ziemer is the former FET PD during the FET's glory days. Barbara was reknown for her skill in combat. I guess Eric is the empire builder and Barbara is the warrior. Eric is looking forward to putting down a nice size colony in places unknown. Rumor has a large number of Qumans last seen heading for an unknown destination. Barbara is looking some interesting enemies to bother us so she can give the battle system a nice workout. There are all these new weapons to play with. They are both looking to have fun. Welcome once again. And beware. I know I am protecting my wallet or is that my colony. I always forget. ------------------------------ Date: 24 Jan 95 00:22:21 EST From: David Isaac <76170.2705@compuserve.com> To: All <bse-l@consensus.com> Subject: BSE:Names Message-ID: <950124052220_76170.2705_CHL54-1@CompuServe.COM> I was told some time ago that the name South Weyr (now Southern Weyr) was based on some novels I've never read. I think it is due to each character having a different width, and thus if you are using a processor that allocates a set space per character, the variable space readers will have tabs set differently, and vice versa. Its simply that a space is not a space. Like I said, it may not be pretty, but you get the picture. Recent attacks against QSN positions have resulted our rethinking on our position on the FGZ. We have heard rumors that they are slave drivers. It was entirely our understanding that their society was a free society of warrior like race. Now we have information they are nothing but a bunch of slave drivers with the appropiate weapons. One QSN council member was seen shaking his head in disgust. DATELINE QSN High Command In an entirely unrelated announcment, the QSN High Command has ordered ALL QSN positions will be posting ALL FGZ positions. This announcement is a warning to FGZ positions. Enter QSN positions at your own risk. The Dreddlox said, "We are tired of all the FGZ backtalking and complaining. If they think they can destroy QSN property without retribution, they better think of something else. It is just a matter of how much we feel like taking. Is this insult worth the extermination of the FGZ or just the leveling of one or two colonies. It is hard to say." One QSN Admiral was seen commenting with glee over the prospect of more baseships to send to scientists deep in QSN Techredd working on the next generation of QSN warships that will make the baseship look like a corvette. Inside sources say that the Baseship is "cute" compared to our new ship. Delivery date for this new ship is unknown, but an unknown ship type was seen doing trials in Drell. DATELINE The Supreme Coilox Palace The QSN Maalox had the following comments after a 5 minute meeting meeting with the Coilox. We recently received this message from the PFM: .....<zzzzzzzt>..[LANGUAGE....FLAGRITZ TRANSLATION INITIATED].......... Den of Earth....Flagritz species set for termination by Pennockan Forces...Due to aggressions against PFM Transhole colony , all Flagritz vessels are now targeted by the forces of the Legatus Prime and Terminus Prime.... Reparation must be approved by Legatus Prime before peaceful co-existence with xenophobic life forms may resume..... WARNING....Large Pennockan War Fleet has been dispatched to destroy Flagritz menace....battle imminent...Federation forces know entrance to Mace home system...korondite accessed to bypass moderate gateway defenses... The PFM have asked the QSN to, in their words, join in on the fun. We were hesitant to do so as we have in the past had better relations with the FGZ. Even recent difficulties did not deter us from pursuing diplomatic relations. We are not sure what the Den of Earth was thinking about. If the Din of Earth believe accusations and veiled threats would push us into their camp, they are sadly mistaken. You do not make friends from making threats. If the Din of Earth wishes to think the QSN as enemies, it is up to him. We are taking a cautious step of raising our military posture. We will still remain neutral in the coming PFM-FGZ war. The FGZ should not enter QSN controlled space as they will be promptly destroyed. As for what action we will take for there recent actions, it has yet to be determined. But I am warning the FGZ do not earn our ire. How many ships can you afford to outfit after we destroyed them all? In response to one reporter's question concerning IMP-FGZ relations, The Maalox responded with a laugh. I heard the FGZ backed down and bent over for the IMP. Since we have 3 sexes, I never have understand that joke, but I get the meaning of it. For a warrior race, they could have at least waited to get bombed once before submitting. Oh well, I guess I misunderstood the FGZ profile. I got to fire that stupid diplomat. Well, it is up to the FGZ if they want to hide behind the skirts of the Imperials. I guess I would too if I was in their position. OOC No talking will get you out of this one. You knew that we were annoyed the first time it happened. If you want to treat the QSN in a certain fashion, don't be surprised to be treated in the same fashion. I gave you the option of settling this issue, but you have done nothing but aggravate it. I am taking Ben Saintcyr's advice and stay out of it. If you want to work this out, talk to Tom. To all others, any aid given to the FGZ will now be considered a hostile act against the QSN and dealt with appropiately. ------------------------------ End of BSE-L Digest 3 ********************* Up
