OTF: One true faith idea: cities From: llangley@carbon.cudenver.edu (Larry J. Langley) Date: Fri, 03 Feb 1995 23:22:37 +0000 I thought I ought to post these ideas for discussion before passing them on to Keith: Cities (Towns?) Only one city may be constructed in a province. The presence of a city increases the maximum population that the province may support *and* the maximum amount of population that is productive (say 1500/750 or 1500/600) Cities may be destroyed by sufficiently powerful earthquakes. And, as a further downside, the population in a city province is twice as susceptible to plagues, famine and earthquakes. (That is, population loss is doubled, but no other effects are doubled) Building a city should require a fairly hefty investment in money, wood and metal. I can see a danger to game balance if the amount of productive population increases to a point where investment return becomes too high. Perhaps the creation of cities should be automatically posted in the newsletter? Hmm. Larry (not related to Keith Langley) Up
