In other words, if you have 100 factories, tool each one to specific production. Factories 1-10 are cranking out consumer goods. 11-20 are producing mines. 21-25 pulsars, etc. That way you can produce a little bit of everything each turn, and just fine tune as you go.<<< The problem with this is that the memory requirements in the program would be enourmous. Now, there is an entry in the non-mil ring that has the total number of tooled factories and 10 slots that have the item # (could be 8 bits) and the quantity to be produced (need at least an int -- 16 bits). There is also the production carry over from the previous week (16 bits). The total MINIMUM is 256 bits to represent the production - that's not much! To do it the way you are talking about, you would need 24 bits for each factory owned! I've been told some colonies have over 3000 factories! That's about 72000 bits or about 9000 bytes for that one colony. (It would be more than that because of pointer overhead and all. Also, this is assuming that ABM programmed memory-efficeint code....) My suggestion would still have 10 groups; but each group would have item being manufactured (8 bits min), Number of factories in the group (16 bits if limit of 64k factories per group is acceptable, otherwise 24), and production carryover (16 bits). This still doubles the memory used but I think the improvement in the game flavor and the decrease in colony orders might make it worthwhile if it is possible. (Psst, Pete, if you and Thad agree to modify the production cost so that nothing cost more than 250 MU of factory production, then you can drop the production carry-over to 8 bits and fit the whole factory group in a long int variable...) >>>Personally, I hate the current production que. Producing one thing at a time seems highly unrealistic.<<< Not too much so ... if you just have one big factory! Much of this confirms what someone told me about colonies being kind of an after thought in the game. Rlo Krieger. Rlo was neutered by Fionna Brisen at EEM Blackacre on 187/05. He is therefore sterile and could not have fathered children anytime thereafter. However, I asked by brother, SAdm Dax Krieger, to get to the bottom of your claims. Dax talked to Rlo and Rlo admitted that he does know Tonya Clubb. She was among the ten passengers that Rlo removed from Hile when he landed at the base of the plateau and offloaded supplies for the Free Werth Army on 186/02. It turns out that he did tape his one-night fling with the skating champion and then marketed it as a "honeymoon" video. Rlo further admitted that as the ship's captain he may have performed a marriage ceremony, but only as a ruse to overcome Tonya's reluctance to share his bed. It is widely known that a ship captain's wedding is not valid off his ship. As for the children, we are not without compassion. However, knowing that the children cannot be Rlo's and *if* any "marriage" were found to be legally binding the existence of the children brings up the question of adultry on the part of Tonya Clubb. We would petition for an annulment of the "marriage". Tonya Clubb would have to give up any right to any claim on the Krieger name for herself or her offspring, Biff and Buffy. In exchange I will authorize a *ONE TIME* disbursement from the Krieger Foundation to establish a small trust for the twins in the amount of *25,000. That will end the matter as far as we are concerned. As for the Wicked Witch claiming Krieger lineage...yeah, right. This "Hillary Krieger" is an imposter, pure and simple. She is not related to the House of Krieger either by blood or marriage. She deserves what- ever she gets, and we hope she gets it good.
