Personaly, I would preer a game-specific code, for a number of reasons. Firstly, I am not a C programmer, I use Pascal - similar in many ways, but sufficiently different to make a game played in C code put me a a large disadvantage at the start. I would assume the same applies to those who use VB, or other languages. I would also guess that the group is far from exclusivly made up of programmers. Secondly, by putting together a game specific code, a number of standard functions can be hard-coded (such as Sell) together with a range of options, so sell might be Sell (Units to sell, Min Price) A Sci-Fi setting might also be better, to avoid to bad a clash between the ideas of programming units and actual game pieces (EG: robot tugs going from asteroid to asteroid).
