NOTE:  If you have already joined one of my games after getting the
mail sent out to the waiting list, please don't join again.

The following games have a limited amount of space still available.
It will be filled first-come first-served.

What is galaxy?
	Galaxy is a strategy game in which the goal is to capture and
hold as many planets as you can while designing your ships, increasing
your technology and enjoying diplomatic relations with those neighbours
that you are not attacking.

Where do I get the instructions and a more detailed description?

The mailer will automatically send you the documentation.  Please
make sure that you spell both the account and machine names correctly.
They are somewhat unusual spellings.

What games are starting?
	I am starting three galaxy games, one of each time-flavour.

harmony:  This will be a one turn per week game, turns will be
		  run on Fridays.
	akron:    This will be a two turn per week game, turns will be
		  run on Monday and Thursday.
	green:    This will be a three turn per week game, turns will be
		  run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Rules?
	Play will be according to the rules according to Russel Wallace,
as returned by my mailer if requested.  Group victories WILL BE ALLOWED
so long as all game participants still active agree to the victory.  All
victories will be recorded in the Galaxy Hall of Fame.
	A single person will be allowed only one position in each game.
If it has been determined, in the GM's opinion, that the same person has
been playing more than one position in a game, that person will forfeit
both positions.  No exceptions.

Do you provide an orders checker?
	Yes.  I have installed the galaxy checker, and a program of my
own to check for some other problems with orders.  However, since I only
pop my mail off the server once a day, at around 8pm, you will not
receive a response until then.

How long does a game take?
	It can take an hour or so to prepare your turn orders near the
beginning of the game.  Should you be one of the lucky ones, toward the
end of the game turn orders can take from four to six hours to prepare.
Please be sure you can handle the time requirements.

How much space does a game take?
	Turn reports can vary from around 20k to 200k.  Be sure that
your site can handle large Email messages and that you have a sufficiently
large quota.

How long does a game last?
	one turn per week games:  These can last for around two years.
	two turn per week games:  These generally last around one year.
	three turn per week games:  These generally last for 8 months.

Please make sure you will have uninterrupted mail access for
the duration of the game.  (Advance orders can be sent in for short
vacations, but if you will be gone for summer break you will need to
be sure you can make arrangements to have someone else play your position
until you get back.)

How do I join?
THE FOLLOWING IS CASE SENSITIVE!!!  Please user lower case for everything
except your Email address (if appropriate).
	Send Email to:

	with a subject of:
		join galaxy
	in the body of the message put a line reading:
		join <gamename> <where you want your orders sent>

So, if I were to join harmony and akron, I would send:
		join harmony alai@atreis.canton.oh.us
		join akron alai@atreis.canton.oh.us

Games will be filled in a first-come first-served basis.  Since I plan
to start the games in two weeks, please respond quickly.  In one week,
if the games are not full, a general announcement will be posted to
rec.games.pbm.

Again, the games are:
	harmony: one turn per week
	akron:   two turns per week
	green:	 three turns per week
