[PBEM News] Nietzsche Heights, Book II From: jdvagabond@hotmail-dot-com.no-spam.invalid (JDVagabond) Date: Thu, 21 Sep 2006 18:16:36 +0000 Just hours from Chicago, St. Louis and Minneapolis, Nietzsche Heights was home to over 2-1/2 million people. It was a quiet, peaceful city. Families still enjoyed picnics in the park, lovers strolled hand in hand, and children frolicked with their pets without care or worry. Nietzsche Heights was a growing, thriving metropolis that managed to hold onto many of the small town values its larger counterparts had lost. It was as near an idyllic a life as many of its citizens could live, until that fateful day in September. Something fell from the sky, into the city proper. Fire and flood swept through the Midwestern metropolis. Radiation and war claimed uncounted lives, fear and madness untold souls. Fate proved indiscrimate. People lived and died. Courage and strength awakened within many, of heart and spirit and body. And within some - moral and corrupt, meek and bold - powers unseen emerged. That day, and forevermore, life went wonderfully, horribly awry. ***** After two years of play, Book I of Nietzsche Heights is coming to a close. The next story arc should be starting in late October, and were welcoming character submissions through that time. Currently we have five players; Id like to see that number doubled. Nietzsche Heights is a 5th Edition Champions game, set in the world of today. The history of this world is that of our own Ray Charles passed away, Enron collapsed, America invaded Iraq in 2003 but please note that the game currently takes place in September 2004. There are no superpowers, no superheroes or supervillains, no worlds of magic or the mystical martial arts of the movies. There is simply the world as we know it, until the events of Book I. Characters are normal, flesh-and-blood people, built on 100+50 points. They will be people you can meet on the street cabbies, politicians, students, cooks normal people. Powers will be determined by the GM, and revealed only through game play. Players and their PCs will learn and explore those powers throughout the game. The posting rate is a minimum of once per week. This game is considered a mature game, with adult situations and graphic language and violence. You must be 18 or older. For more information, please stop by our site or write to the GM. http://www.viamea.com/Nietzsche%20Heights/frameset_main.html Thanks for your time, and take it easy.
