Dear Nicky Van Rijn, "Anti-QSN slander"? Nay, it is just the honest hatred that the free people of the CP and the TH feel when an evil empire prepares a war of aggression. What the airwaves have been filled with is private Quman threats, of who they are going to hit with their 50 (or is it 60, 80, 100, 150, 300 or 500) ship fleet. As for racial slurs, please, I'm above that. It is your war of conquest in the TH that I find evil. The fact that Qumans dump their uric acid via their skin pores, thus giving themselves an urine yellow skin coloration (and a really horrible smell) is just a fact of nature. Dear Lord Anton Qutroh, You will be pleased to know that your announcement that IND Werth will never have to suffer your presence has touched off a wild wave of partying here. Please make my (and everyone else's) day and expand your personal boycott to the rest of the QSN. As a neutral port, we must accept all visitors who do not attack us. So when an unpopular group of war-mongers like the QSN promises never to visit Werth, the peace-loving citizens here feel like they have been delivered from a great evil. Then they go out and party. Unlike some people, I don't carry old grudges. Hell, I had a lot of fun in the "old" SMS. I am against the QSN because they are starting a war of aggression. I am against the "new" SMS because they are aiding the QSN in that war. Stop your stupid war, then normal relations might again be possible between IND Werth and the QSN (and SMS). First, the registered version of the program DOES print the maps and does quite a good job of it as well. It's an add-on utility program. Second, the registered version has export capabilites that allow it to be input to SCRIBE (albeit with some data loss due to scribes limitations). I also seem to recall export ability to a database format as well. Third, although not really an error, talk to the program author Tim Lomas. He was going to/is working on a version that puts out GIF format. ------------------------------ From: PROTHORAX@aol.com Date: Sat, 15 Apr 1995 22:20:32 -0400 Subject: Re: BSE: The DTR question? I stored the planet and gas giant symbols as separate .bmp files and it makes it a snap to create great looking system maps by transferring all of it into MS Publisher to add in the text and planet data. It strikes me that we will need more than the four characters that RTG uses for terrain types from planetary probes. If we correlate one of the ASCII characters to each possible type (and one for specials) then we should be able to transfer the information easily without loss of data. I'm fairly good at C/C++ core programming; but have no expirence in the realm of graphics. I can do the routines that will convert between a flat ASCII file type (which can be used as message traffic) and a data structure of almost any kind. Is there anyone that can (preferably in 'Windoze') do the GUI side of this? When done, I would be for releaseing the source so that those on MACs could port it if they wished. ------------------------------ From: Jackmyster@aol.com Date: Sun, 16 Apr 1995 11:55:10 -0400 Subject: BSE: To: Ens.
