For some of us BSE includes other areas of intrest and we should also be allowed to spread our wings as there is enuff room for all hear! Personally I feel it's up to the GM to provide the field of play and I would rather sepend my time roleplaying, nuking, throwing mud and taking a few mud slings which I pay the GM's to provide the forum to play in. There is a lot of history and being thrown around and many of a player has made there mark. You have to read between the lines sometimes as a example the QSN are getting flamed but just a couple years ago they got nuked! Big time! and they have recovered and now command respect(trying<g>). Another is the transhole AFT player who stole stellars from the STC bank! For me it's what makes BSE. I suggest if your only intrest is the tech side then maybe a system to flag the message to address tech issues be used. example: BSE(t) tech, BSE(r) roleplay, BSE(g) general. The FGZ were given "assurances" by the PFM leadership that no hostile actions would be taken against the FGZ...(so much for Dan's "word".) However, on 195.12 The PFM Fury engaged and destroyed two FGZ WGs in WCE space. Today Ataman will send a commincation to the PFM leader (USnail) stating that if he does not supply a reasonable answer to this unprovoked attack, then the FGZ will consider the PFM at war with them. In the past, the FGZ/PFM leadership have enjoyed "reasonable" relations, so it is with a "heavy heart" that the Ataman sees the PFM take the path of suicide. I noticed that several responses that I sent to the list had never been recieved by the list. First off, for thoses unaware, I have discontinued usage of the dallas.relay.... Please direct all future email to my delphi account at: Ludendorf@delphi.com To those who thought John J. dropping was an April Fools joke, because he coincidentaly posted it on 4-1-95. It isn't. The Navy is shipping him to a place in Europe where it will be impossible for him to keep in email contact, annd mail turnaround is slow at best. He'll be there for 3 years, so it was pointless to remain in the game. RE: the People vs. Fat-boy The ISP Nightstalker is a real position, and currently moving to Allipon. If ya'll like the stories so far, and are looking foward to the trial, an OOC plea, please don't fire on the position... it'll spoil several future scripts. Allipon was chosen for several reasons: [1] It is neutral, [2] It is GM controlled, [3] It has ships and defenses capable of stopping all but the most determined (and costly) attack, [4] As a GM-enforced neutral, even the FOE & RIP are welcome at the trial, and thus no one can worry that it is a trap (if it had been held at Werth, in IMP space...), and [5] as long as the only the the QSN & FGZ are shooting at each other is hot air, there's little danger in the area. Tony Filiato has declined to act as chief prosecutor, but he did say he'ld be willing to offer legal pointers (he's an attorney, and none of us know squat about the law) for our characters who are acting as prosecutors. As he is on Compuserve and since CIS charges for receipt of internet mail, those who are not on CIS, I will be will to relay your questions to him, and his answers to you, as a courtesy so that our little role-playing joke doesn't cost him anything. RE: Durable Goods The Nightstalker will stop at an IMP colony, just before leaving IMP space, and pickup stellars. Everyone who wants 1 durable good (for reverse engineering), let me know now. The ship will return with the durable goods after the trial. cost will be 125 Stellar (100 for the Durable good, and 25 for shipping & handling charges... delivery included). I need to know which colony you want the item delivered to, and put it on your market. RE: Graphics software I'm looking for a good graphics software that will allow me to computerize BSE maps, both system and planet. I prefer Windows based software. My goal is to be able to create maps in either GIF or BMP format.... something readable by most everyone, or at least convertable by those with Mac's. STGMap from CIS doesn't cut it. It creates beautiful maps, but they aren't printable (for the newbies or for those without PC's), and the format is only readable by someone else with STGMap. Maps as I outlined them here, would be exchangeable in email files. Anyone have any suggestions? Templates are also being considered, but would have to be in one of the few exiting graphics programs I use. Also, be advised that I do have an excellent graphics program that already generates great maps (and printable), but in a special format not readable by everyone. The program is Aide De Camp from HPS Software. Another feature in this is it allows me to add units, ships, colonies to a map, and move them, and simulate combat with them.... great for defense coord.'s and ground forces coord.'s. At this time, only Kerry H. and myself have copies of this software. this doesn't cut it for mass distribution. You are trying to go around in circles to justify your base actions, and are now blustering to recover from these activities. You can pick on anyone you want, as long as you don't do it in WCE space. Whether or not we have a pact with the FGZ, as a government entity we have the responsibility to protect those attacked in our space. In fact, it is more of a duty. I suggest you go back to the Periphery where you can hide behind the Imperial shield. sergeant major ------------------------------ End of BSE Digest V195 #143 *************************** To subscribe to bse-digest, send the command: subscribe bse-digest in the body of a message to "Majordomo@io.com".
