Magic the (addiction) now owns the ORIGINS con... From: Bill Rapp <conquest@dnai.com> Date: Fri, 05 May 1995 00:00:00 +0000 I just got the lastest issue of Paper Mayhem, and in the editorial that Dave writes, he states that Wizards of the Coast purchased Gary Smith's Andon Unlimited. I attended (as a vendor) Origins last year. The con was dissappointing from the marketing perspective. Magic, as it has at most cons, took the lion's share of players attention. The con also made the mistake of trying to operate out of several buildings making it appear very disjointed. In all fairness though, Gary (Andon) had his hands full; he lost or fired the initial coordinator, and had to scramble to pull off a miracle to get the thing off and running. In addition, attendance was down. How will Wizards of the Coast affect the con? Will pbm moderators support the con? Will pbm subscribers support the con? Does Wizards care??? Referenced By Up
