ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #58 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Wed, 10 May 1995 00:00:00 +0000 This file was automatically generated by csd@microplex.com If you notice anything unusual, please e-tell me. You better not kill Faction 9 or this service may be discontinued.:-) Contributions in Silver will be gladly accepted. ---------------------------------------------------------- From: vjg@cbnea.att.com Original-From: v.guinto Date: 9 May 1995 15:46 EDT Subject: Monzon trade faction sought Hello! I advertised in the Times this week, but have not yet gotten any replies. With the upcoming changes in exit cities from Atlantis City, this may be my last chance to get a faction from there, so I'm sending this to the list. I am located in the Monzon area, a few regions away from the city. I currently have exclusive claim on two swamps, and I need a TRADE faction to work with me in these swamps. This is a good opportunity for a new faction without allies. I have allies in the Monzon area, and am on good terms with most of the other factions in the area, so you will be completely safe coming here. Settling in a couple of swamps may not seem like a very exciting prospect, but consider it a secure way to get started. And who knows what the future holds? The swamps combined provide 37 wood and 31 herbs. I'll buy part of the herbs and part of the wood (in the form of weapons), for reasonable prices (below city market price, certainly, but still well over the cost of production!). There are markets nearby for herbs and for wagons, plus at least one other faction in the region has a standing offer to buy wood, so you will have no trouble at all selling whatever I don't buy. I will give you: - safe passage through Monzon City to the swamps - exclusive rights to the regions' products - defense against raiders, should any show up (Monzon is peaceful!) - introduction to my other allies - first dibs on production in any other regions I may claim in the future - if you're a trade/magic faction, introduction to other magic factions for training and spell sharing - if I can get stone, I'll pay you to build my citadel! The only thing I cannot let you do is tax in the regions that I have claimed, but if you're war/trade, I can help you find unclaimed regions in the area where you can tax. Anyone interested, please contact me via email. [I'm willing to work with any of the four players whose plans in the Monzon area were accidentally exposed to the list. It was a good plan! My swamps are two of the best regions left without production claims, so if you seriously want to cut wood in the Monzon area, you should contact me. Rest assured I'll be careful how I reply to your email, and all messages will be kept completely confidential.] -Renaissance (faction 30) vjg@cbnea.att.com ---------------------------------------------------------- From: yaj@cc.gatech.edu (Jay Luo) Subject: Re: Kashmar Proclamation... She and her Order of The White Flame > have been mercilessly slain by the Free Companions who advanced on one of her > allies in Dezhou (4,18). The death of Jenna Calayne is most regrettable, but I attribute the blame entirely to Jenna's ally, who foolishly posted guards in a hex in a known war zone and then declared my faction unfriendly. If Jenna had selected 'avoid combat', this might have prevented her death as well. Given the effectiveness of her battle magic, I would have been glad to hire her as a sorceress for my own army; it is most unfortunate that she chose to ally with a weak war faction. > Those South of Kashmar > are advised to take care in their travels as you will not be given the chance > to reason with them. Completely false. I have recently contacted several trade factions south of Kashmar in areas where I am increasing my influence and established very good relations with them. I have no wish to enter conflict with non-war factions at all and indeed wish to encourage production of goods in Dezhou. the Captain faction 109 ---------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 9 May 1995 18:25:44 -0400 From: BlackFlash@aol.com Subject: Re: Where's My Horse, Horace? >Someone stole my horse!!!!!
