You also might try Legends and Middle Earth.

I recommend that you pick one game that sounds interesting,
play for _at least_ 5 turns to get a true picture of game play,
then decide if it's what you like.  If not pick a different one.
With so many games out there you'll eventually find one that suites
your taste, or checkbook, or schedule.

Be aware that most pbm rpg's have a different "feel" to them than
computer rpg's like Ultima.  Also many pbm games seem difficult at
first because of the rules or order entry system, but once you get
past the basics, the game becomes _much_ more enjoyable.
