They will be repelled and exterminated. >From the Office of the Minister of Propaganda: Our colony in Thought Ugo have undergone an attack by AIS forces. We would like to warn the entire Greater Periphery that the soulless Berserkers have arrived and they are out to destroy all life. Also, please note that robotics are vulunerable to them. Our security bots reportedly joined their side. We are further disappointed at the WCE for transporting them to us. To aid non-living beings to destroy other organic creatures is dispicable. The QSN would like an immediate communication explaining your actions. Such hostilities are unwarranted and only further destabilize the Greater Periphery and will only result in harm to the WCE. This is try 6 to get this to the list. It looks as if my internet account get mail semi-0K, but don't send it worth a darn. Hello, I am planning on getting into BSE. I tried it several years ago (maybe a decade), but ABM gamemastering style (i.e. T-Snit) turned me off. Before I got in, I thought I would ask the PDs which affiliation I should join. I am interested in exploration, but also have skills in logistics and economics (game-style). You can contact me on the internet at DalePenn@HiWAAY.net, or on CI$ at 72060,3646. If you want to talk direct, send me an EMail and I will respond with my physical address and phone. And of course, you can all argue it out on the mailing list. Perhaps the software did operate correctly. Maybe we just had more tanks and ships, or were just smarter. I find it amusing that you can now conveniently blame your defeat on some 'glitch.' I thought the SMS were supposed to be harmless, etc., etc., etc. And never forget that your loss of Pittsburg is a direct result of your blatant, repetitive, undeserved attacks against us. Ahh excuse me Mr. Clueless. He wasn't refereing to Pittsburg. As far as smarter goes I'm not to sure about that. I think the RIP have been using Pittsburg as a base since 190 or 191. It took the SMS several YEARS to figure that one out. You think the RIP has been a pain in the past. Boy, are you in for a good time! OOC: Doug, The loss of Pittsburgh was expected. Like I told a lot of people, I am amazed that the SMS let me keep it for as long as I did. What, it took you guys FIVE YEARS to come and get it back after I took it with me? When I left the SMS, I gave the colony about 2 years before it was gone. As for how you won, a lot of it had to do with my horrendous mail delays. In 6 months, I got maybe 4 printouts, all of them over 4 weeks late. There were 2 months of no production due to morale problems (too many colonists). Once I had a quick fix of dumping them out into Ground Parties (At least I didn't KILL them all - which is something I could easily have done - now you have something to rebuild the colony with!!) Anyway, now I am two months behind on production and couldn't get things going with morale stuff. Would you have won anyway? Yes. Maybe not that particular week, but eventually, yes. Did you win fair and square? Yes. Am I upset because I lost it? No. Talk to Charles Middleton. I have been sending him some EMAIL about things. Basically, I offered to save you guys a lot of U.S. $$ by sending Charles a complete planetary (moon) GPI with every deposit located along with size/class. What I don't like is you slamming me without even knowing what I am talking about. If you feel like slamming me like this, maybe I just will throw the GPI info away or just sell it off on the open market. (Anyone out there willing to pay me some stellars for it??) FYI, by giving me all the time I had with Pittsburgh, I was able to build 10, yes 10 RIP colonies all throughout the Periphery using Pittsburgh's factory production. Thanks! If you care to talk to me on the phone, the number is: 612-888-7437 (until about 6 June - after that, it will be somewhere in Pearl Harbor, Hi) Neil Bradley ------------------------------ From: Alan Hatcher <ZU02380@UABDPO.DPO.UAB.EDU> Date: Wed, 24 May 95 01:17:09 CDT Subject: Re: BSE: Who should I join ? Dale, I think the answer to your question of "Who to Join" is an easy one: The Association of Free Traders Why the AFT you ask? Well, we offer you the oppurtunity to be in an affiliation while at the same time allowing you to pursue your own goals. We also offer some of the best special abilities in the game, which include the following: 1. Jump in 10 TU's instead of the normal 20. 2. Swap Jump Engines with Thrust Engines in 0 tu's instead of 4. 3. All transactions such as Buy, Sell, Xfer, and Deliver are performed in 3 TU's instead of 4. (Other Affiliations get this same benefit when interacting with AFT Colonies) 4. We can build Hiports at any size colony. (Very Nice when starting a new colony or building up a smaller one.) 5. Our 5 TU colony scan will be obselete with the new rules since everyone will get it now, but hey, we've got it for 4 more weeks! We can also help you upgrade your initial ships to larger ones, and with our own fleet and the Imperials can offer you good protection from the unruly types. We're also a good AFF for beginning players since we won't plunge you head first into major conflicts like some of other AFF's in the game currently. If you're interested in exploration, I think you'll find combining our special abilities with the new Exploration ship specialization on a ship will allow you to save real dollars on your turn costs. If you want more info feel free to contact me or any other AFT member here on the list. Alan Hatcher P.O. Box 223 Westover, AL 35185 (205) 991 - 8686 Work 11pm - 6 am C.S.T.
