This is primarily a role-playing game, or it's supposed to be one anyway <g>, and much of what is said on the list is in-character, i.e. from your WCE character to my WCE character. However, when I want to speak directly to you (Kevin to David), I would preface my remarks with OOC because it is out-of-character. Btw, welcome to the WCE! I can tell by the way everyone acts and relates with one another that I am really going to enjoy the game. In time, I will probably write IC as well, as soon as I determine exactly what kind of character he will be. David B. ------------------------------ From: pkrauskopf@FALCON.AL.WPAFB.AF.MIL Date: Mon, 29 May 1995 16:25:23 -0400 Subject: OOC Comments Richard, First off, I resent you accusing me of making OOC comments and shielding them as in-character. There were no insults against any individuals in my comments. There were no snide remarks. There was no name-calling. And especially, there was no whining in the thing. QSN Nick made some derogatory comments about WCE honor, and I responded, IN-CHARACTER. Period. I have nothing against ol' Nick's "player-owner" (I don't even remember who he is, off the top of my head). And I wasn't accusing anyone of cheating. If I were, there would be absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind that that was what I was doing, because I would be asking RTG to remove you from the game. I AM accusing the QSN of trying to put together a secret conspiracy against the WCE. I have a lot of evidence that points in that direction. And simple denials on the part of the QSN are not going to allay my fears. If you knew me very well, you would know that I am very big about role-playing this game. Hell, I paid Wayne Alexander good stellars so that Otto Bongwater would defend me in my character's resignation from the AFT. Chip, Steve M, and I spent a weeks mincing words with the AIS so that everything was done validly, in a role-playing sense. And you'll never find anyone who I've tried to talk out of role-playing a situation, simply because to do so would be more convenient. At any rate, Richard, please be aware that attacking the QSN and/or your character does not constitute out of character comments. As far as Horst is concerned, you QSN can't be trusted worth a damn. You've killed his people, both at Soul Cage and at Eldorath. Just because there are some (or even all) new players in the QSN doesn't change history. Look how long fear of Germany has lingered after WW 2. Even today, one of Russia's big fears is to see German tanks come rolling up through the Ukraine. Don't expect less of the WCE. If you would like to get along better with the WCE, then remember the history that has occurred. Don't come into the Transhole demanding to be allowed to go wherever you want, to colonize wherever you want, and to attack whatever you want. If the QSN wish to grow peacefully, then act like peaceful people. The WCE, BY PROFILE, must over-react to any type of perceived hostility. That is the way they will be played. In fact, I've often worried that I've not over-reacted far enough on many situations. However, I've been able to attribute this to Horst's naturally calm demeanor. At any rate, Richard, if you're ever wondering whether something I write is in-character or out of character, simply read the signature. If it's not "Phil K," then it's probably in-character. If this is too difficult, please let me know, and I'll figure out some other way to let you know. Phil K. (<=== See, this one is out of charcter). ------------------------------ From: LUDENDORF@delphi.com Date: Mon, 29 May 1995 17:02:26 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Re: BSE: WCE Honor > <The KZK consider the QSN valued trading partners, nothing more. > > K'zk Kasrith-kazereckii> > > You mean Bed Partners...don't you? > > Nomad1 Is that anatomically possible? For over 3+ years of gaming time the QSN has supported every group that wished to do us harm! The game history speaks for itself and the WaSP will never trust the QSN. As for current history QSN your actions speak like the past. The best example is the outpost the WaSP scaned and setup on Alippon! The same thing happen to the WaSP on another planet over 2 years ago and the QSN lost big time! Does losing a colony and ships ring a bell? or your allies colony just disappeared in a ball of fire with a hole the size of half the planet ring a bell? Or other natual events that material or crew were lost? The WaSP play a quiet active game and it is assumed you know the danger allong with the advantage of association. As for the current history of the WaSP we serve the SAM and have developed limited strong association with others. As for your current power base statues it is impressive. But, the path the QSN has taken to aquire this statues is gray at best. Your AFF will never have the honor of aquirerment that some groups have. ............................................................................la ter david ------------------------------ From: PKRAUSKOPF@FALCON.AL.WPAFB.AF.MIL Date: Tue, 30 May 1995 08:30:55 -0400 Subject: Re: BSE: Poker -Reply -Reply Thom, I didn't say what time I'd show up, mainly so you wouldn't know. You really must be losing it in your old age Horst. I don't even play poker, much less take time out of my valuable research to show up at a game with low enough values to invite you. As far as extra aces go, I'd definitely make Guido empty all his pockets upon entry into the room, maybe even make him play naked. The same goes for Mikel.
