New AL-QADIM PBeM From: jkallay@eskimo.com (Jonathan Kallay) Date: Sun, 28 May 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Well, folks. It appears to me that there is a shortage of good, open AD&D games around here. This being the case, I have decided to start one myself: The game will be set in the AL-QADIM world, but not on Toril, heaven forbid. Now this might be a problem for those of you who don't have the AL-QADIM rules. However, I will -->willingly<-- work around this. Why? Because I am fully sympathetic to those people who are not willing to blowing more money on the ^#%@^ at TSR than they absoltely have to. Therefore, all you really need is the bare bones PHB. Just tell me if you don't have AL-QADIM. The game will start at about third level. I highly encourage people to submit characters who are Zakharan natives, i.e. they have native character kits. Once again, if you don't have AL-QADIM, I can give you a list of the available kits or you can tell me what kind of Arabian character you are interested in and I'll tell you if that fits one of the AL-QADIM kits. Logistics: I am hoping to go at about a 2-2 rate: two days for the players to announce their actions, two days for me to post the move. This might vary. However, I am also contemplating the occasional use of IRC so that we can keep things moving nicely and add some variety- I will probably use this mostly for battles & combat and other feedback-intensive situations. If you don't have IRC access, once again, I'll try and work around it. Characters: I am going to take about 8 players. This will not be first come, first serve. From now until the 11th of June, I will be taking general character outlines. These should NOT have stats on them. They should include personality, background, class and things that will make me want to have them in my game and that show off what a great role-player you are. Once I receive those, I'll make a decision about who plays and who doesn't. More information will be posted soon, and I'm planning on putting up a home page for the game. Hoping to hear from all you FRP'ers soon. Jonathan Kallay Up
