WAR IN ARA-JEN CONTINUES FI, UC, UN Trade Blows UC/C Waal Teer (Ara-Jen System) - Warfare in Ara- Jen System grew complicated last month. The FI invasion of the system continues, but additional battles were fought as UC and UN forces clashed in the Urr Civil War. Three Urr Consulate expeditions on Toka-I; UC/E Short Storage, UC/E Ice, and UC/E Schrike Uguru; launched a day zero attack against the UN Hanno in orbit. The Hanno took damage amidships and aft during the first round of the battle and was knocked out of action. The Hanno was joined in her defense by NA/E Thangorodrim on Toka-I but the expedition did not use any offensive weapons. Return fire from the Hanno destroyed nearly all riders launched from UC/E Short Storage. With the Hanno out of action, the UC forces blasted away at NA/E Thangorodrim, ripping the expedition's defensive riders out of the sky in the second combat round and then pounding its surface elements during the final four rounds of the battle. Meanwhile, the First Imperium launched another "nuisance" attack when FI/E 334th Arcanus on Toka-I unleashed its force of 2 riders. A multitude of Urr Consulate defenders destroyed the suicide attack and the expedition in short order. No UC positions were damaged. Heavy fighting was reported on the surface of Toka- I as UC/E Spy attacked NA/E Thangorodrim in close combat. The Non-Aligned expedition was reportedly destroyed after two combat rounds. UC/E Spy suffered no casualties. On day 10, the UN Valarauka entered orbit around Toka-I and was immediately attacked by UC/E Urr Guardian and UC/C Waal Teer. The UC forces hit the UN ship with beams, missiles, and riders, ripping into her amidships and aft sections in the first and second rounds of the battle. The Valarauka did not return fire. In the third round of the battle the Valaurauka, her nuclear dampers gone, was destroyed in a flurry of nuclear detonations as nuclear missiles detonated in her amidships section. URR NATION FOUNDED New Government Allegiance UN/C Hannibals Kastel (Yule System) - A new government allegiance was founded last month. It calls itself the Urr Nation (UN) and is headed by President Reezarrk Eihzen of the UN Haar Gdat Roaar. President Eihzen read a prepared statement to the press: The Urr Nation (UN) is part of the Urr Civilization, consisting mainly of Younger Urr, members of the so called "liberal party." These young Urr believe in a powerful blend of tradition and lessons learned in the many years of war following the invention of space flight. The ruling body is the lnesk Jin, consisting of the eight eldest commanders. They in turn vote for the Supreme Warlord, who is the voice of UN to outsiders and commander in chief of all armed forces. The Supreme Warlord has to justify his actions before the Inesk Jin. Besides the Supreme Warlord there are two more positions which will be filled by members of the Inesk Jin: The Novice Trainer and the Science Coordinator. Every member of the Inesk Jin has one vote. The Supreme Warlord is allowed to break ties. Every position may be obtained through Virilgen Sat, ritual challenge combat to first blood or death, followed by confirmation of the lnesk Jin, which will usually honor the fighting skills of a victor, if he has proven his worth in the Urr Nation. The Goal of the Urr Nation is the prosperity and welfare of the Urr Civilization, through strong defense and active exploration. They trace their roots to the Gondrill System and feel a strong relationship to the ancient Urr. The UN left the Urr Consulate when a Supreme Warlord ignored the lnesk Jin, disgraced himself by refusing all challenges and launched an unprepared Urr Navy into a reckless offensive war against the known universe instead of being aware of his duty and protecting Urr citizens in their home System Ara-Jen. The actions of UN members are determined by their honor (Haar) and their duty (Naar). Every member has to defend his Haar, even against impossible odds, unless his Naar to the Urr race demands otherwise. The perfect balance of honor and duty Is the goal of every Urr. The Urr have learned through bitter lessons that duty may make it necessary to use covered actions in times of war. To seek death without positive effects for the Urr race, even in a glorious, honorful last stand, is a fool's death and a waste of life and resources. Urr Nation is not restricted to the Urr Race alone. Members of other races which follow the code of honor and duty are known as "Gurn Jin." They are full members of the UN society, though they have to prove themselves in the Challenge Ring. To avoid this mostly deadly experience non Urr citizens may join non-military positions without personal combat in any challenge. The Position of the Supreme Warlord however has to be decided by challenge it any non Urr citizen dares to demand this top position of Urr Nation NEWSWATCH News In Brief Beta-Eris System: Rioting has broken out at BN/C Beta Eris I, a Bnorg stargate city. Nearly 25% of the population has been killed in the resulting mayhem. Deep Space: More rumors continue to filter in about stargate closures. It is reported that some allegiances are ordering their stargates to self-destruct in order to avoid capture. All ship captains are stongly advised to avoid using stargates whenever possible. Loram System: A huge bubble of molten magma forming under one of Shilonk's floating "islands" threatens an FI mining settlement there. Panic is spreading through the settlement based on rumors that FI has no plans to evacuate. The bubble is due to erupt any day now. Rispir System: Grand Alliance Head of State Gor Bar (BN Whiis Puur) issued this press release: "By unanimous vote of the High Council, the GA officially acknowledges that a state of war exists between the Grand Alliance and the Urr Consulate." BATTLE IN HOLLIMAN UC Expedition Destroyed FI/C Delta Alpha (Holliman System) - FI/E Zeta Terminal on the surface of Meridian employed missiles and riders in a day zero attack on UC/E Neemis Enterprises; also on the surface of Meridian. In the first round of the battle, Zeta Terminal targeted the defensive rider force launched by Neemis Enterprises and shattered it. Defensive fire from the Urr Consulate expedition hit a number of FI riders but although damaged, they managed to stay in the air. There was no offensive return fire from Neemis Enterprises. With the UC riders gone, Zeta Terminal hit the surface elements of Neemis Enterprises and hit them hard. A rain of missiles and rider fire hit the UC expedition through the second, third, and fourth combat rounds. FI missiles detonated to do explosive damage, but their secondary nuclear warheads did not detonate thanks to Neemis Enterprise's nuclear dampers. The dampers themselves were destroyed one by one and by the end of the fourth combat round the last of them was gone. NEWS REPORT The Information Channel UN/C Hannibals Kastel (Yule System) [Independent Reporter] - "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Kyle Norton, reporting from UN/C Hannibals Kastel in Yule. Today, the Inesk Jin of the newly founded Urr Nation called a press conference to comment on the current events in Ara-Jen. As we reported in the latest issue of NEWS REPORT, FI is attacking the UC positions in Ara- Jen, so far with moderate success. The UC however is weakened by internal problems, as ranking officers have declared their independence from Zadock Whitefang last month. The Battleship UN Hanno and UN/E Thangorodrim are currently in Ara-Jen, defending their former comrades against the FI attacks, despite Supreme Warlord Zadock Whitefang's threats to outlaw his former subjects. Recent events have shown a new development in the UC/UN crisis, however. In 07- 159, UC troops attacked UN/E Thangorodrim. Many Urr were killed in the attack. Even though relations between the liberal independent Urr and the conservative UC have been strained, the massive attack on the civilian research expedition came as a surprise. An interesting detail is that the expedition's commander, Moor Gooth had challenged Zadock Whitefang to fight over the position of Supreme Warlord shortly before. Here is what the UN representative, Minister for Communication and Information Starlord Taar Khad'Cor had to say:" Ladies and Gentleman, this is an official statement of the Urr Nation Inesk Jin: You have seen the evidence of the recent attack on UN/E Thangorodrim . We feel obliged to express our regret, our anger and our contempt for Zadock Whitefang and his supporters. The UC have NOT declared war on the UN and attacked our expedition without reason. They diminished their honor even more, as the NA/E Thangorodrim was not a military expedition. Hours before the attack, Whitefang announced that the Expedition should leave Ara-Jen and would get an opportunity to do so. At that point, however, UC troops were already preparing for the attack. "Do You imply that Supreme Warlord Zadock Whitefang deceived you on purpose ?" That is correct. But we should not neglect Kren Greyclaw's role in this deception. He is powerhungry and utterly ruthless. Regarding the latest events it is obvious that he is the driving power behind the UC's self-destructive and foolish course of action. We can even assume that Whitefang is by now nothing more than a Puppet on Greyclaw strings. Greyclaw's cowardice and stupidity have spread like a cancer among the Urr and Whitefang was the first, who fell prey to his curse. Such honorless actions are just the UC's new style. "Isn't this very... unusual? I mean, it ceztainly neglects the Urr beliefs of Honor, the path of the Warrior." This is sad but true. We feel deep anger and utmost contempt for the UC's action, but it should have been expected. You see, this was an easy way for Whitefang to spare himself the disgrace to either back down from a challenge or face certain defeat in the Arena. Let this give testimony of the cowardice and dishonor of Zadock Whitefang and his supporters. "The attack on a civilian expedition seems absolutely illogical, regarding the massive FI presence in Ara- Jen. Isn't it foolish to commit so many resources with Fl already gaining footholds in Ara-Jen?" The UC's folly is obvious, indeed. Their attack shows that they have little regard for their honor and especially for their race. More than 12.000 Urr were killed. While our Battleship UN Hanno defended Ara-Jen against the FI attacks, the UC attacked their own brethren instead of defending their homeworld. I guess everyone can judge now, who is the real traitor to his people. In reaction to the honorless attack on UN/E Thangorodrim , we hereby notify the UC that we will retaliate without mercy. We do not want war, as we still consider the UC our brethren but we will not let such incidents go unpunished. From now on we will take an eye for an eye, a life for a life. Radecic - FI Longshoreman Usually I don't respond to alien ignorance, but "The Independant Eye" has caught my attention by questioning my honor, criticizing me, and finally challenging me. (ISC 06.159) First off I must say I find it difficult to take your criticizm of my actions seriously. You attack my courage and honor, yet you hide in the cowardly shadow of anonymity. A man stands behind his words and his actions. A man does not fear to stand in the light of scrutiny. This you obviously fear. But then, you are not a man; perhaps it is too much to ask of an alien to back it's words. In response to your challenge: Why should I waste my time? You are too afraid to admit your own identity; a physical threat may cause you to wet yourself. I know� I know� you have some reason for hiding your identity� a coward can always find an excuse not to fight. So put up or shut up! We've all had to hear your diarrhea of the mouth far too long. Show us your courage. Show us alien superiority. I haven't seen it yet, and I'm not holding my breath. Step into the light and do something instead of talking about it. As a matter of honor he retains his "nome de guerre" Kagemusha.
