ARENA III Playtest Now Open

Arena III is a PBEM gladiator combat game.  It is currently in beta
test, free, and open to all interested players.  This test will run
for approximately three weeks or until new bugs have stopped
appearing.  After that, Arena will become a commercial PBEM game run
by Shadow Island Games.

Arena III is different in several ways from previous versions of
Arena.  Among the major changes are:

* A new movement/location system.
	* Schools for training
	* A variety of new arenas.
	* Magical weapons and armor.
	* Various other surprises.

For this playtest, the Arena world has been restricted to only a few
locations, and players will be limited to 1 gladiator.

To join the Arena, send an empty mail message to:

arena@pbm.com

The Arena server will sign you up and send you the latest copy of the
rules in a return message.  You are encouraged to read through the
rules carefully before beginning play.

If you run an archive site, please feel free to make the ASCII and
postscript versions of the Arena rules available through your site.

As usual, please direct all questions and comments to me.  This
version of Arena is very new and raw; please expect problems.  If you
encounter a problem, please send me mail describing the problem in
detail.  I'll respond as quickly as possible, but please remember that
(1) Arena is a hobby for me, so I don't have as much time to spend on
it as you might expect, and (2) I'm in California, so I may still be
sleeping when you expect me to be fixing Arena.
