KILLing long posts From: Simon Reed <simon@sandj.demon.co.uk> Date: Tue, 13 Jun 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Personally, I'm not interested in most of the very long posts (1000+ lines) in r.g.p and have now got a fair sized KILL file so I can omit some of them by subject. Please note, I am *not* saying they should not be here! However, omitting them by subject is not an ideal method. Does anyone knw of a convenient convention we could apply (and mention in the FAQ?) to easily identify the ones we don't want? This must be a problem solved a thousand times before. I do't want to lose all messages over 999 lines in all newsgroups and it is a shame thatI am currently KILLing *legends* and *mepbm* etc. when the short messages are often the most interesting. I am assuming most of us are only reading a few of these long posts (I do have orders to write, you know) (oh, and a job to go to) so the method would need to be one such that one would not need to use a GET file to retrieve the ones wanted (I think). Any ideas? Incidentally, I am using KA9Q NOS v2.16 and SNEWS 1.30 on a DOS PC. -- Simon Reed, simon@sandj.demon.co.uk, "Don't lurk - play Galaxy" Referenced By Up
