to keep this digest (maybe I just wanted to massage my ego ;-))

Ahhh. I see - because Lord Viper studied to LV 5 that month, he was still lv
4DURING the month!

Okay guys NOW I have lv 5 OBS, and am available for protection contracts in
atlantis city for $30 a month.

It's too late to fit them all in my orders this turn, so they'll have to go
inNext turn.

I commend the studious people who have achieved STE 5 in atlantis city!

ANY information on Praestbygd (7,21), like who guards it, how wealthy
it is, and so on, will be gratefully received.  Also, what about
Dezhou (6,21)?  This is to avoid potential squabbles over land over
the winter months.

Explore only rich regions....  :)  But, seriously, even as a War faction
I find it is barely worth it to go far into swamp regions.  Menial labor
is not a good way to pay for a scout anyhow, since your scout has to stop
to work two months (or so) to pay for one month's move.  Better is to tax
as you move (for War factions), subsist on unclaimed silver (you get $50/month,
enough to support several scouts) or just give each scout a pile of money
before you send them out.
