Each mage may set exactly one combat spell, but different mages may set different spells. If you use the COMBAT order to set a combat spell, the spell you specify replaces any previous spell. There are some spells that are cast automatically AFTER combat, if the mage has them -- these do not have to be set with the COMBAT order. Grog needs minions because he has delusions of gradeur. So, he travels to the market and sees a bunch of people and leaders for sale. He want's to buy them. He's confused... When I buy people, do I need to for the new group for them and then have that new group purchase them, or can the main unit purchase them. If the main unit purchases them, where do the new peopel end up? If you try to get the new unit to purchase, and you give it some money, and they end up getting nothing, where does the money go at the end of the turn? Poof? What's the best way to get new people? Also I downloaded a mapping program off of the Atlantis WWW page. Is there any other software (windows or OS/2) that I will need or that will be helpful? Easy huh? If an existing unit buys new men, they end up in that unit, this diluting any studying that that unit has achieved. Usually better is to form a new unit, give it money, and have it buy the men. If the new unit doesn't get anyone, then the money (and any other possessions) go to the first unit of the same faction on the list of units in the region. If there is no other unit of that faction in the region, then I imagine that the money and items do, in fact, go poof. >What's the best way to get new people? Leave Atlantis City. On the contrary, I would assume only up to level 2. Analogy: If you have a combat(2) leader with a sword, can he train up to level 2 or 4? But I guess this debate will actually have to wait for the definitive answer from Geoff, since I'm sure we all have our assumptions. ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Mark Forsyth <mark@forsyth.demon.co.uk> Date: Thu, 29 Jun 1995 17:14:32 +0000 Subject: Another question.
