Company Commander query From: scru0002@maroon.tc.umn.edu (William C Scruton) Date: Sat, 01 Jul 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Hi all! After reading the FAQ and checking out the WWW site, I could find no mention of a game I used to play in the late 1980s into 1990: Schubel and Sons' PBsnailM game, Company Commander. After placing a call to the 'phone number and posting a letter to the business address contained in the rules, I received no reply; I've had to conclude that Schubel and Sons have either gone out of business or moved to a new location. My question is : does anybody on this group know if Company Commander is still being run and, if not by Schubel and Sons, by whom? Alternatively, does anyone in this group know of a similar game being run either as PBM or (preferably) PBEM? Just a brief description of the game to jog peoples' memories: Company Commander was gamemaster moderated, continuous, and focussed on company-level military action in the current day world; the particular campaign that I played in was set in a fictitious Thailand torn by civil war where the players commanded factions/bandit groups in the civil war -- I had heard of other campaign being set in different countries but all used the same rules. If you prefer, you can send me email responses direct at <scru0002@maroon.tc.umn.edu> or post to the group -- whichever seems most appropriate or is most convenient. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! Chris Scruton Referenced By Up
