The license fee was originally a flat monthly amount, so with a large customer base this could have been a money maker. Part of the problem was my lack of advertising budget, part was my refusal to use Schubel's original cash-milking pricing structure, and part was the absence of any marketing support from eitehr Schubel or Northwest Simulations. Since I AM starting to develop a significant client base for ONE TRUE FAITH, with all other conditions the same, I must also assume that part of the problem was withthe game itself. In any event, I renegotiated for a %age instead of a flat rate, which NWSim agreed to; their flexibility allowed me to keep running the game. But it's still not going anywhere, and the program has some very annoying habits (like telling you you've made an error by erasing random parts of the past 15 minutes' work, then kicking you back to DOS). I found myself dreading the arrival of new turns, and I got into this because it was supposed to be a FUN way to make a living. So, I'm sticking with OTF until I design something else. And speaking of that, I'd better get offline and back to work...it's dangerous to keep Gods waiting! Up
