AG: returning player From: khearn@pyramid.com (Keith Hearn) Date: Mon, 17 Jul 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Greetings fellow AG players! I used to play AG, a while back (my last turn was turn 80 in Barstow). I'm now starting to play again. I just got my first turn back (turn 118 - Barstow). For those of you who may recall me, I ran Marcellus (formerly #425, now #359). I also run Kirin (formerly #638, now #406). The ID numbers got changed because my account was archived during my hiatus, and they got different numbers when they were restored. There used to be a group of us who were running low level characters in Barstow who would communicate via email to arrainge adventures. Is there still anything like this going on? Would anyone who has low level characters be interested in adventuring with my guys? I'd be willing to make the trip to Antar or Ciston if I have to to find companions, but I'd rather stay at Bartow to avoid losing time in transit. Here are brief descriptions of my characters: Marcellus (#359) Power level:409 Race: Human, Sex: make, Height: 71 inches, Weight: Average Record: 33/70 --> 47% with 0 kills # of adventures: 5 avg. score 43 Weapon skills: Rapier -> Weapon Lord, Flail -> Level 2, Fist -> trained Generally a front rank fighter. Has protection at level 1, Combat Sense at level 1, and bandage wounds at trained. Also has a number of other skills that only effect himself, like CM-Blink, initiative, etc. Kirin (#406) Power level:267 Race: half-elf, Sex: male, height: 78 inches, Weight: light Record: 30/63 --> 48% with 0 kills #of adventures: 0 Weapon skills: hand axe -> Level 2, Fist -> Level 2, Bow -> trained Will mainly provide archery support, healing, and other non-melee support. Has Combat Sense at level 1 and is trained in Bow use and Universe magic. Will raise bow use and Universe magic to level 1 this turn, and train in cure party. One other question: Marcellus started out with Rapier, and fairly quickly got up to weapon lord. Then I started noticing that when adventuring, he was hitting alot but not getting much damage past armor. I decided at the time that the Rapier was too light of a weapon, and had him train in the flail, and start using it in guild fights. He's got it up to level 2 now. Now that I'm starting to play again, I'm wondering what my best course is. Is the rapier just too light of a weapon to be useful, or will more strength or skill make it effective? Or is he better off just writing off the time spent with the rapier, and go ahead and continue with the flail? His stats are: str - 16, dex - 17, sta - 12, cun - 19. He's got 23 skill pts in rapier, and 8 in flail. Thanks, Keith Hearn khearn@pyramid.com Referenced By Up
