Note that the Newbian BattleGate at space square 28-13 is available to make it easier to get to Gaspree and it is currently well defended. The Merchant upgrade will effectively double the capacity of your cargo ship for non-colonist, non-troop and ground party support items, though if applied to a warship will permanently make it unable to fire weapons. The upgrade takes 50 TU special action and can only be performed on ships without a hull shift unless you issue a additional 50 TU special action to remove your ship's hull shift. The charge is 50,000 stellars for the upgrade unless you have a prior agreement with the GTT. Note to those with affiliation-based Pickup Authorizations for this upgrade - -- if you have a ship built *AFTER* week 29 and wish to upgrade it, please contact us in advance -- there is requirement for us to reissue the PA order for the entire affiliation in order for it to apply to any new ships. Currently all SSL may upgrade for free because we have reciprical free access to their Korondite Jammer Upgrade. As soon as other ACCC members have their ship specialization upgrades (or other kinds of ship upgrades) available to GTT ships, we will reciprocate with them as well. Also, merchant ships with a regular history of both buy *AND* sell activity at any GTT colony (such as EKN MIF-MIZ #3636, AFT GRAYWOLF #3628, AFT TYRONE #1613, etc.) may upgrade for free. If you currently have a merchant ship and can't afford the upgrade price do a couple of runs between GTT Gaspree, GTT Sodom or GTT Southern Cross, etc. and we'll upgrade you for free. This deal will also apply to future upgrades (we hope to have Merchant Class B and C in a couple of months.) **NOTE** IND ships are on the GTT's Ground Enemy list as we have had problems with IND ships at several of our colonies. Do not land at GTT Gaspree unless you don't mind having your ship confiscated, searched, and possibly (and at our sole discretion) returned to you if you are not armed or carrying troops. Undeclared IND ships are welcome to upgrade at GTT Gaspree, but you must first make prior arrangements with us in order to be allowed to land. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ .. It is quite clear that you father was vindicated in his decision to place so powerful an asset in the hands of one so young. So young, yet so capable. You and your crew have served your emperor well this day. I am making this message public [note to Krieger press: You may wish to circulate it in your fine publication as well] because of a new offer from USS Quay (on Stormgate 4). Minister Lavender Wombat has announced a bounty of 2,000 genuine USS robotic pleasure sheep for all confirmed kills of RIP warships, including those dis-ingenuous fellows who think that by disguising themselves as "IND" they are in some way less culpable for their atrocities. This offer does not, of course, include colony kills of suicide ships. If you would be so kind to forward a ship number (preferably by private channel), I will see to it that you get a pick up code for your 4,000 sheep. Continued success in your future endeavors! (except Neil) I actually HATE AOL but I keep the account for my wife. I can live with the conference being on AOL. An EEM Krieger family member explains to Lord Dim of Wit how to get away with ordering the savage RIP attack on the Blue Whale. >>Your motto should've been, "I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you >>can't prove anything." >> >>Stu Krieger 2. One of the drug-crazed RIP fanatics reveals that ongoing contracts still exist which threaten the Blue Whale. >>I will say there are several parties out there willing to pay for ANY QSN >>ships I damage or destroy. Had we accidently blown you up we still would >>have gotten paid. >> >>Cap'n Scragg 3. The ISP PD himself gives careful instructions to Lord Dim of Wit as to how to successfully (and legally) blow up the Blue Whale should the opportunity arise in the future. >>>this whole thing is rather stupid...the FGZ could have easily come into Drell >>>and blown the sorry SOB away...and that would have been "okay" with the IMPs. >> >>This is correct, and this is what you should have done. 1 FGZ Baseship >>would've destroyed the Blue Whale. I know, because my daughter's >>Baseship just destroyed 2 veteran capital RIP warships... singlehandedly. >> >>PD von Ludendorf >>ISP 4. Unverified news reports would appear to indicate that my superiors are not taking my current difficulties as seriously as I would have hoped. >> <Sidebar picture of Antron Qutroh in frothy hot >> tub with Myron> >> >> PROPAGANDA MINISTER PARTIES >> WHILE QSN STARGATE GOES POP! <BTW .. who the hell is Myron?> Given this threatening situation, when an opportunity for a promotion arose (from MerchantPerson Ensign to Lord) I accepted. Henceforth I will be the new leader of QSN Ilium Novum, a level 7 colony, once I find out exactly where it is. With the current state of animosity towards me displayed by several unstable periphery creatures, I thought it best to send word ahead to the colony to blow up any IND shipping they may encounter .. this seems especially prudent given the unfortunate events occuring on Odin's Eye recently. My sincere apologies to any innocent IND captains who are inconvienced by this action. The Blue Whale will be placed under the command of MerchantPerson Ensign Kubla Cohen effective immediately. Apparently my promotion over the heads of many senior members of the UNNAMED family, was achieved because of my following accomplishments. 1. Prevented IND Werth from going over to the WCE by exposing Sir Hairy Flashpan as mentally incompetant, and being the first one to suggest that Rlo Kruger had the right to head the colony based upon his 2nd place finish in the election held there. 2. Surviving the crazed onslaught of an entire RIP armada while piloting but a single (well built) QSN Cargo Master. Umm .. did I mention the upcoming deals on QSN ships soon to be available at Ilium Novum. Ah well .. later. 3. Cleverly exposing the nefarious villan behind the dastardly attack as none other than the FGZ's Lord Dim of Wit, so that he and his sad affiliation had to pay the inevitable price that arises when one dares to break an imperial law. 4. Earning 1.2 million stellars in a single 70 TU week with a single Cargo Master (due to superior QSN ship construction and a once-in-a-decade drift in two colony markets located on the same planet). Hopefully this sterling record will prove an inspiration to all periphery newbies. Even with but a single cargo ship, one can make a difference.
