I just ftp'd the rules to make sure mine were up to date - and confirmed that the abbreviations for bows were changed many game months ago! Here I quote : Silver SIL Iron IRO Wood WOO Stone STO Furs FUR Fish FIS Herbs HER Horses HOR Swords SWO Crossbows XBO Longbows LBO Chain armor CHA Plate Armor PLT Wagons WAG Looks like it's LBO and XBO folks :) Check that your rules aren't out of date! You can ftp them from : ftp.rahul.net/pub/atlantis/ hope this helps! Jon. aka Lord Viper and Lady Venom. House Banshee (217) of the DOMINION. I think the idea is to make the distinction between the item and the skill (although Fish {item} is FIS and Fishing {skill} is also FIS. The same with a fewothers, herb lore ...??) However, having said this, I have seen FOUR differing versions of the rules, (OK so they were from different places and at different times) which have the bows mixed up in the abbreviation section. First they are XBO then CRO then CBOthen ????? What next? Can we have a definate "yey" from someone please? Apparently it is the other way around. I always type the full name. Sorry if anyone thinks I'm wasting space, but I'd like to hear the official word on this. Geoff, could you mail a list of all the abbreviations to avoid future concern, and so that all web pages can be updated? Does it stop all movement for turn or will it try to continue with its other movement orders? For example - I order a scout to move NE N NE into unexplored territory. It moves NE fine but then tries to move N into an ocean hex. Will it end the turn or now try to carry out the last NE order- in affect moving NE NE? What about with guarded hexes? I order a unit to move SE S but the first hex I try to move into is guarded by and unfriendly faction. Again does the unit end all movement or try to move S now thanks, John(faction 820) gft_jon@gsbvxb.uchicago.edu ---------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 21 Jul 1995 16:52:05 -0500 (CDT) From: GFT_JON@gsbvxb.uchicago.edu Subject: COM training wanted in Jaca Anyone teaching COM in Jaca? let me know. For arguements sake, lets say I have a magus who qualifies to research the Gadget area, both for "Create Wand of Fireflash" and for "Create Potion of Healing". If I order this magus to study the Gadget area, but another gives him the spell "Create Wand of Fireflash", can I be sure that he will actually research the "Create Potion of Healing" (as opposed to researching for the Wand, whilst being given it)? From looking at the rules I believe that this would be the case, but would appreciate if someone could confirm this. Thanks. _______________________________________________________________________ Matthew Bassett internet mail: matthew@te.rl.ac.uk Rutherford Appleton Laboratory janet mail: matthew@uk.ac.rl.te Up
