  This is a current list of the character types that we are accepting.  It
is subject to change without notice.  The line of Time Frame dates
following the entry on the character type are the *only* time frames that
the type may be played in.
  These are *not* character classes, and may not be combined.  By the same
token, you may not ask for a race not listed on here, and you may not
combine races and types, as they are the same thing.  In other words, you
may be a Merc or a Bastian, but you may not be both.  Since these are only
a framework, you may pick a Bastian and later buy the skills to turn him
into a Merc, however.  Keep in mind that most people will judge you by
what you tell them, as they have no way of knowing what your actual
character type is unless you open your mouth.
  Some of the Types are members of a group.  If you choose that type, you
will be given a chance to quit the group in your starting adventure, and
simply use the skills and the background in developing your character.
You are not locked into anything.
  By the way, each Time Frame has types that appear only in that Time
Frame, but most of the types appear in 2 or more TF's.

Alchemist - When you're dealing with Magick even some of the rules of
chemistry change.  The Alchemist starts out with the skills needed to
produce alchemical potions and products.  Thye are also nice to have along
on some adventures to provide alchemical back up.

Assassin - A silent killer is always needed in any Time Frame.  These guys
practice with blowguns, garottes, silencers, and the like.  Of course you
have to be able to afford them.

Bard - Bards are more than simple entertainers, they are also the main
news and information source in low technology eras.  They bring music,
song, dance, and fun to all, and only ask for a bit of food and a place to
sleep.  It's a good place to start if you want to have fun.

Bastian - These are cat people.  They are not werecats, and are not
limited to any specific look or breed.  For more information, there is a
article on them in the Galactacyclopedia.

Beast Master/Beast Mistress - It's strange having a person around who can
actually communicate with certain animals, but you get used to it fast.
The fact that they are reasonable sword swingers can make you quickly
forget about some of the strange pets that they have.

Cabellero - Spanish speaking peoples were all over the 1800's california,
and most had actually come from spain in the previous few generations, and
so still abide by the code of chivalry from the order of Cabellero's.

Corpsec - A basic corporation security specialist in use from about 1980
on.  Taught basic weapons skills, and trained in security techniques to
serve in a supervisory and trouble shooting capacity.

Corsair - Pirates, pure and simple.  They are the same type as you find in
both the 1600's and the Time Frame of 2023.  It's amazing how civilization
can warrent the return of a profession that had died out.

Detective - Starting in the early 1980's police departments started hiring
outside detectives who were certified to handle investigations for them.
This type is a basic detective and will be sub contract to police
departments, both Coporate, and municipal.

Doppleganger - Strange beings capable of taking on a new form every 12-24
hours.  They will die outside of a Methane atmosphere unless they are in a
form that can breathe the air that they are in.  In any case, after 24
hours, if they have not touched a person and switched to a new form they
will revert to their natural form.  By the way, getting touched by one is
an attack that does Willpower damage.  Dopplegangers are not part of the
Races of Man.  In any case, don't trust one since they look on us as
cattle.

Dragon - This is an actual Dragon, and must be carefully dealt with.  They
stand about 6-8 foot, have a tail that can be used as a weapon if they
train with it, and wings.  Not pleasant to mess with, although they appear
to be lacking in skills.

Dragon Warrior Cadet - The 2025 Time Frame has a group named the Dragon
Warriors who turn out trained adventurers.  You have the option of either
going into the DW, or striking out on your own.  Training in swords and
guns is standard.

Drifter - There is a certain type of person who just looks like they are
looking for trouble.  The Drifter is one of those, and they do carry a
nasty looking pistol gripped shotgun as the normal weapon of choice.  Not
someone that you want to mess with.

Druid - Nature priests, they have been called, but they actually worship
gods who we will never know the name of.  They do have powers that are
best suited to the woods, and come in all forms of good and evil.

Dwarf - They are powerhouses.   Combat engineers, Miners, and of course,
heavy weapons troopers that none can equal.  Short of stature, but VERY
long on strength

Elf - As if there's really anything that needs to be said?

Elfling - This is sort of a halfway form between Elves and Humans, and
only occurs at two points in history.  When the Suppression was first
begining, and when it ended.  Sometimes in the short lived Role-Playing
games of the 1970's and 80's, they were called Half-elves.  Of course,
that was before they actually showed up.

Enchanter/Enchantress - One of the more powerful Magick Users around.
They tend to have spent major amounts of time learning various magickal
arts.  Unlike other types of spell casters, they have not specialised in
any one type of Magick, choosing instead to generalise and even branch
into Psionic abilities every once in a while.

Engineer - In the time after WW III, suitable people to rebuild suche
things as dams, bridges, and such came into prominance.  Then the warlords
discoverd they had other uses.  Such as seige engines, and balloons.

Falconer - This type is really self-explanatory.  It's the story of a
person and their bird.  The bird depends on the Time Frame, but a type of
hawk is most common.

FBI Agent -  This is a good place for a person to start out life.  Good
pay.  Job security, and a sure way to find more adventure than you had
ever expected.

Forester - Also know as 'Merry Men', the Foresters were the first to
follow Lord Robert Hoade aka Robin Hood when he again rebelled against
King John.

Freelance - This is an old adventurer type, appearing only before 1600.
They are mercenary armoured warriors who rent out thier ability with the
Lance and Sword.

Gallowglass - Irish people have never been known for even tempers and the
Gallowglasses are feared for thei fighting ability with both claymore and
poleaxes.  They are mercenaries who will only follow a strong leader, and
love the sounds of battle.

Ganger - This is a member of a street gang in Washington DC.  Usually
trying to make good.

Gentleman - (Or Lady)  This type is the classic victorian adventurer.
Well bred, and educated, and a blank slate on which to build the type of
hero that legends are made of.

Gunslinger - This type came about in the 1840's and didn't change a whole
lot.  You could still find gunslingers of the old west variaty up until
the 1930's in some parts of the world, and they didn't really die out
after that.  In the years after WW III, they came back into popularity due
to the reliabilty of single action pistols.
