ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #129 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Tue, 05 Sep 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Errors to csd@microplex.com Now there should be a digest whenever (a) there are 10 emails or (b) whenever there is an email waiting for more than 48 hours for a digest to be completed. So don't get worried if the digest has only 1 or 2 emails, that just means the list has been slow. (I hope it works) If you want previous versions, they are available via WWW at http://www.microplex.com/~csd/atlantisv2/ ---------------------------------------------------------- From: "Priserka" <POLASKOV@novell.karlin.mff.cuni.cz> Date: Tue, 5 Sep 1995 12:06:11 Subject: Teaching NAT 3 I will teach NAT 3 this and next two turns $70 per student ($50 if 3 and more) I have 6 free slots. By this I mean move into a hex then enter the structure then move IN while in the structure. From the sequence of events it seems that this cant be done as "enter" orders come at the start, before any movement. Is there anyway around this? It would seem logical that a unit with plenty of movement points to spare should be able to say move one hex into a desert, enter that shaft, then move 1 more hex into the underworld. Many people depend on income from selling wagons and this trend is alarming to say the least. Nothing in the rules says demand will change like this (only # of raw materials that can be produced is mentioned) and I'm wondering if this is an un-documented feature(ie.. bug). An idea that demand will change was mentioned in the design-digest for Atl-3, perhaps Geoff has imp'd it for atl-2? Anyone have any experience with wanted products changing in towns/cities? I hate to think I wasted silver investing in something that has no future. Each character with this skill can attempt to heal 5 casualties. Each attempt however requires one unit of Herbs, which is thereby used up. Each attempt has a 50% chance of healing one casualty; only one attempt at Healing may be made per casualty. Healing occurs automatically, after the battle is over, by any living healers on the winning side. " So, can a man with HEA2 heal up to 10 men? What are the advantages of studying advanced healing? (He asks after issuing the order to study healing to level 2.) Well, I don't have any units in Jaca, so I'm guessing. Check the city population for those turns, though. If a large number of player units are now WORKing in the city, then they will have reduced the population significantly. I presume that demand for goods is tied to population as are many other region statistics, so that would explain the decrease in demand. If I'm correct, then the demand will continue to decrease as long as additional men work each turn, but will increase if fewer men work. A city that demands 400 wagons originally will bottom out at around 80... the 400% overstatement of demand is short lived and serves mainly to put trade factions at each others throats, as well as make you wet your pants when the numbers start to fall :) > John > faction 820 > gft_jon@gsbvxb.uchicago.edu > Doug Monzon Wood Exchange (289) thayer@uis.edu -- "When we look at the world, we see various arts offered as items for sale.
