ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #133 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Mon, 11 Sep 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Errors to csd@microplex.com Now there should be a digest whenever (a) there are 10 emails or (b) whenever there is an email waiting for more than 48 hours for a digest to be completed. So don't get worried if the digest has only 1 or 2 emails, that just means the list has been slow. (I hope it works) If you want previous versions, they are available via WWW at http://www.microplex.com/~csd/atlantisv2/ ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Greg Chaix <gchaix@ednet1.osl.or.gov> Subject: Rerun? I've heard no more than 5-10 people complain about problems on this list. Which is no more than happens every turn. The silent majority of 500+ factions seems to be having no problems, or at least none worth complaining about (if they did, believe you me, they would make quite a ruckus, and we'd all hear about it). It seems that most people's turns processed fine. Which is more than enough reason not to re-run the turn. For those of you who had problems -- (1) did you turn your orders in according to instructions? You would have gotten a receipt message if you did. If you didn't get the reciept message, re-read the new instructions, and follow them. If you did get a receipt, and your orders failed to process, that's a bug -- see below. (2) Something buggy happen with your turn? (Rather than just making stupid human mistakes, like I did.) Report the bugs to Geoff (and note, he does _not_ read this list). This is a _playtest_. You all knew that when you signed up to play. Geoff's new-player-intro-file spelled out his policy on what happens when you get messed up by a bug. He's treated me justly when I've been hit by them, and I'm sure he'll do the same for you -- but note, that doesn't mean he'll make you whole, since that's not the policy. ---------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 9 Sep 1995 14:15:52 -0400 From: roy@acasun.eckerd.edu (Jonathan Roy) Subject: Re: Rerun - (1) did you turn your orders in according to instructions? Some people, like me, followed the instructions exactly but there was no auto-reply, nor were our orders used. Geoff told me a number of problems on his end caused mail and so on to be lost, which is why some of our orders/etc were failed. I've sent in 3 sets of orders today with no reply yet. Using the new address, and everything. :/ ---------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 9 Sep 1995 13:49:26 -0500 (CDT) From: "Robert A.
