ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #136 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Sun, 17 Sep 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Errors to csd@microplex.com Now there should be a digest whenever (a) there are 10 emails or (b) whenever there is an email waiting for more than 48 hours for a digest to be completed. So don't get worried if the digest has only 1 or 2 emails, that just means the list has been slow. (I hope it works) If you want previous versions, they are available via WWW at http://www.microplex.com/~csd/atlantisv2/ ---------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 14 Sep 1995 09:02:17 +1000 (EST) From: Robert Henley <rhenley@st.nepean.uws.edu.au> Subject: Re: query On Wed, 13 Sep 1995, Bob Hayes wrote: > The last two turns I have gotten a "reward" of 50 unclaimed silver. These 6 factions have 85 of the 100 wagons so I'm hoping we can all work something out. I have yet to hear from the following factions. Argonauts (464) 1 wagon Zorbas the Greek & Associates (806) 3 wagons House of Marta (749) 0 wagons but capability to build 10 Order of the Crescent Hawk (940) 8 wagons Order of the Crimson Skull (928) 5 wagons Maybe they dont read the list so I'll write directly to them. right now about 100 wagons will be sold in Jaca, where demand is 65. count on selling about 2/3 of what you order to be sold. Next turn will see demand drop to 36. You can all see where this is leading. Let's do something about it. Ideas? I guess a Magic Sword weighs the same as a normal one, but the items created out of thin air have no specified weight. Are they weightless (intentionally(?), bug(?)) or is there a limit on how many Gloves/Helms/Picks/Wands a man can carry? Any info appreciated. They do notshow up on other people's reports, but you can steal them if you know they arethere (oops - I meant to say that *allegedly* you can steal them ;-) Viper. > Are they weightless (intentionally(?), bug(?)) or is > there a limit on how many Gloves/Helms/Picks/Wands a man can carry? > > Any info appreciated. > > TIA, > Charlie > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > | Charlie, aka Kristian Kolb | 186,000 mph - it's not just a good idea.| > | Computer Science Student | | > | Uppsala University, Sweden | It's the LAW! | > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Jon Harvey <u3jph@csc.liv.ac.uk> Subject: Re: Wagons in Jaca Date: Fri, 15 Sep 1995 10:46:09 +0100 (BST) GFT_JON (GFT_JON@gsbvxb.uchicago.edu) wrote: > > > Just to update those interested.... > > 6 wagon-making faction(myself included) have agreed that somthing has to > be done about the market in Jaca. Idea : get a mage cartel to enchant them all and peg off around the world to sell them all. Idea : Have a war with each other Idea : run a competition to build the biggest wagon - winner gets control of the market. Idea : Get a mage to open a portal to somewhere where there is better demand. You could even pay him in wagons ;-) Idea : make something else out of the wood, such as carts. Idea : give away a free wagon with every wagon sold Idea : submit some or all of them as evidence in the OJ trial Idea : get a thief cartel to steal wagons from your rivals and burn them (the wagons, not the cartel) Idea : kill all workers in the city. This will raise the local population, andincrease demand. Idea : work together with each other. Design an equal quota system of how manywagons each faction can produce and sell each month, don't let anyone else produce any, and then support each other to open up other areas of production, such as longbows and crossbows (best weapons in the game after mages) and utilise other natural resources if there are any. Do you have water? Then build boats (for the hell of it if you can't think of a use for them. You could always fill them with wagons, sail them out to sea, and sink em ;-) hope this helps ;-) Jon. aka Lord Viper and Lady Venom. House Banshee (217) of the DOMINION.
