Odyssey Questions From: jhalpern@newbridge.com (Joel Halpern) Date: Fri, 15 Sep 1995 00:00:00 +0000 I am considering joining the next game of Odyssey/HeroQuest to start. I have a number of questions. 1) What do people think of it. It seems a bit expensive per turn, so I am somewhat concerned about whether it is worth it. 2) Would people be willing to give some advice on startup? I have created a conforming starting party, but There are some specific decisions that I am not sure are right: A) I created a denbasher party with some army potential. Specifically, One of the characters is a Knight (fighter/commander) with all commander stats bumped as far as possible, in addition to brawn, grit, and mobility. Is this reasonable? B) I gave all the characters +15 luck. Is this a waste? C) I bought a village. Is this reasonable? I did so primarily for the Glory, and seconadrily for a place to start recruiting troops when I am ready. Should I settle for a hamlet, or skip getting a location entirely? D) Should I buy starting glory for the characters? E) I also pushed the starting Abilities pretty hard. Should I save the points for a fifth character? I relaize that these are opinion questions. 3) Once I start, I am wondering how easy it is to judge the strength of den creatures. Is it practical to translate from the grades given in the scenario outline into some idea of what one can defeat? Thank you, Joel M.
