Odyssey: failed orders From: minnotte@stat0.stat.rice.edu (Michael Minnotte) Date: Thu, 21 Sep 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Does anyone know what happens if an Odyssey character (location, guild, etc.) issues an order which fails because the prereq's aren't met? In particular, does it still count as an action for the character (loc., guild, etc.)? For example, suppose you have a necromancer, c01, you wish to make a spectre with spell s184. If you only have a moderate chance of learning the spell on any given LEARN order, could you have your two-action character issue: LEARN c01 s184 LEARN c01 s184 CAST c01 s184 c01, with the theory that if the character doesn't learn the spell the first time, he'll take a second try, but that if he succeeds at first, he'll use his second action to cast it on himself?
