Thought you might be interesting in hearing about my fight with the Vixen! I'll kill the suspense and say right off she whupped me (no suprise), but the details are mildly interesting. First, the prelims! I did the Monster battles rather than the normal Guid fights, and got: Match 1: Cyclop Warlord (96 inches, heavy weight, scale armor / no helmet, L6 in heavy mace and large shield) - Couldn't hit him hard enough to stop him, but he was fast and hit hard enough to stop me. Match 2: Wizard Spider (30 inches, average weight, has Blink and Blast) - Coward. Chased it around for the whole match flailing away at it (30 attacks), couldn't hit it once. It tried biting me 6 times, never got a taste. I won in a decision. Match 3: Horned Centipede (45 inches, heavy weight) - cleaned its clock. It never had a chance. Match 4: Wizard Spider (ditto) - This one ran too, most of the time, but did turn and blast me occasionally. Finally nailed it and it crumbled quick. Match 5: Albino Dog Beast (45 inches, heavy weight) - Not as fearsome one on one as it is in packs. Bites HARD, and can take lots of damage, but can't dodge well. I won. Match 6: Albino Dog Beast (ditto) - ditto. Match 7: Burly Cyclops (92 inches, average weight, studded leather / no helmet, L6 spiked gauntlets on both hands) - He never had a chance, I just beat on him until he fell. CHALLENGE FIGHT: Vixen (# 1088; 68 inches, average weight, plate mail armor / light helmet, L14 (that's FOURTEEN) rapier) - I cast L6 Speed, I used inititive, and she walked in, smashed through my parries, hit me before I could dodge (most of the time) and took me out in 4 blows. Whee, what a woman! So, what do we learn from this? Namely that you don't mess around with Vixens, is what we learn from this! Except as part of a BIG, POWERFUL group! Chewi BTW, Fernanda reports her (his) Mino pendant disintegrated this turn, so either something happened or they are like Faerie gold, and you better use them quick 'cause they don't last long.
