Guilds of Honor and PBM Fraud From: grasshippy@aol.com (Grasshippy) Date: Sun, 01 Oct 1995 00:00:00 +0000 I am a longtime PBM gamer and one thing I have always disliked about the hobby is that many companies are essentially fly-by-night operations. You always run a risk when you invest a lot of time and money in a position because the PBM company may suddenly go defunct. Obviously this is the case when the company is run part-time by one or two people. What I find most irritating is when you send money to a company for a startup and they go "out of business" and never return your money. For example, I sent 20 bucks to play in a new PBM game by Alternate Entertainment called Guilds of Honor. They have never sent me a turn. I e-mailed their Internet address numerous times and have received no reply. You would think that they would have the common courtesy to send the players a letter if there is a delay, or if the company is going defunct. I have a feeling my money is gone. I know this has happened to other players in the past with other companies and larger balances. This is why I usually try to stay with the larger companies like RSI. Say what you want about their service, but they are not likely to disappear suddenly, taking your account balance with them. Referenced By Up
