Legends (UK) - New startup help.

I'm just about to work on my startup position for a Legends game
either NIC3 or DD in the UK, via Rhann postal games.

I'd like some advice from other UK players about which game I
should start in and see if anyone's interested in me starting
in any particular way!

I can join NIC3 now or wait a while (no start date given yet) for
a position in DD. I've not played before so maybe NIC3 would be
'safe', any reasons why I should wait for DD?

Whatever game I join, I could go it alone and see what happens.
OR I could setup in some particular way to fill in a 'whole' or
strategic position that another player needs. Any offers/suggestions?

At the moment I think I'd prefer to play a Hero position, but
the Merc. temps me. I'm not much into religion, so that's out,
but I do play a thief/disrupter quite well! Maybe some Chaos Lord
to be needs a Hero general to lead his armies into battle. Or a
Lord might be able to use someone to lead small parties involved
in local skirmish's? Or is someone looking for another type of
specialist?? Could play a goode, goode, but would need a very good
cause.....

Open to suggestions.
