HW: Aquilonia, why not on worst list ? From: baidins@stimpy.eecis.udel.edu (Juris Baidins) Date: Tue, 10 Oct 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Looking at the map, I sometimes wonder why Aquilonia is not regarded as one of the worst kingdoms to play. After all it is surrounded by nations who (in the books at least) all want a piece. Pictland and Nemedia obviously; Ophir; Argos and Zingara are noted as wanting Poitain. Others further away are also enemies: Stygia (again from the books) and I know Hyperborea wants a piece. Cimmeria might want some too. So what makes the position survivable (I can guess at generalities I want specifics): 1) Large, presumably rich, kingdom ? 2) Are some of the listed neighbors not after a piece of Aquilonia, or at least their imperial goals do not require Aquilonia 2a) Alternately, some kingdoms are not dangerous until they get their imperial troops, but can not get them because their goals are in Aquilonia ? 3) Good diplomatic corp, so Aquilonia gets to decide who to fight ? 4) Supreme troops (Very specific details here please): - Bossonian archers - Gunderland pikes - Poitain knights 5) easy imperial goals and what are the imperial troops like ? -- Juris Baidins baidins@cis.udel.edu Referenced By Up
