ATLANTISv2 atl-players-digest #150 From: csd@microplex.com (Christian Daudt) Date: Fri, 13 Oct 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Errors to csd@microplex.com Now there should be a digest whenever (a) there are 10 emails or (b) whenever there is an email waiting for more than 48 hours for a digest to be completed. So don't get worried if the digest has only 1 or 2 emails, that just means the list has been slow. (I hope it works) If you want previous versions, they are available via WWW at http://www.microplex.com/~csd/atlantisv2/ ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Lewis Haddow <L.J.HADDOW@sms.ed.ac.uk> Date: Thu, 12 Oct 1995 12:54:17 +0000 Subject: horses How many horses can a one-person unit "carry"? LH ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Dave "Mack" McGaw <u3djm@csc.liv.ac.uk> Subject: Skill Reports Date: Thu, 12 Oct 1995 14:53:11 +0100 (BST) Howdy All, As you may or may not have heard, I've been busy setting up my WWW home page, and as such would be almost incomplete without an Atlantis page. So far I have an interactive (well, one loaded with links) spell book you can peruse, and I'm aiming to do the same with the Skills. For this reason I need a whole heap of skill descriptions. I already have a number of people conducting a reshow for me (Thanx to all) but a few skills and levels are bound to elude me and this is where I need YOU. If you could conduct a reshow of ALL your current skills and their levels, then mail them to me, I'll compile them all and put them on my page. (I've even drawn my own icons for each skill). Once the page is complete, the site should be opened up for anyone to have a look see and slag me off about how crap, or praise the hell out of me for how good you think it is. In any regard, if you decide to lend me a hand, issue the order under the correct units of the form reshow skill <skill name> <level> Even if you just send me one skill, I'd be happy (if everyone sent me a different skill I will probably have it all done by next week). Note that even though some skills have the line : No description for ??? level 2 Send it anyway as I can put a note in the page abpout it. Thanx to all who are currently doing so, and to those who are about to. THANK YOU Regards Mack u3djm@csc.liv.ac.uk ---------------------------------------------------------- From: Michael Omotayo Akinde <strategy@iesd.auc.dk> Date: Thu, 12 Oct 1995 17:56:14 +0100 Subject: Links to Atlantis HomePage - Forum Romanum I've been working a bit on my pages lately. There seems to have been an inflation in making homepages as fancy as possible lately, with graphics - and background pictures. I deliberately choose NOT to put in backdrops due to the extra download time. Not everyone can sit and work on Solaris and SunOs machines like the ones we have at IESD. ;-) The Forum Romanum is still under construction BUT I've updated my list of Atlantis Links - the current list contains ALL WWWeb Pages about Atlantis that I've ever heard off, and short comments about each of them. If I've missed any, please mail me. Regards, The Legate. I have discovered that a one-man unit can "carry" many horses *and* move at riding speed. I thought originally that a single person should not be able to ride more than one horse at once. But perhaps one could see it as a man on horseback driving all the other horses, or leading them tethered. I think that this should be possible, but perhaps riding or horsetraining could determine how many horses a unit can move without actually being mounted upon them. I don't know if this is a bug or not. (I'd rather it was kept.) For added security of the City of the New, I am proposing the following to allfactions. 1) Declare default friendly - this to enable trade with other factions (give orders etc etc) 2) Declare the City Guard as allies - to fight on the same side as the City guard if hassles arrise. 3) Remove avoid flag so you'll join in the fight if needed 4) Select which units to stand behind (eg mages) and leave the rest as front line troops. This ensures the safety of yourself and the other factions in AC from ANY possible attack. Note that as you leave AC you can return your affiliations to whatever standard you like, but whilst in AC it would be mutually beneficial to do the above.
