Ancient Times 0995b From: keith.langley@mdcs.com (Keith Langley) Date: Wed, 18 Oct 1995 00:00:00 +0000 Holy Writ One True Faith game #3 Volcano destroys Kiev - A mountain in Kiev burst asunder, spewing boiling hot Jagermeister over Roebuck's huge army. All civilians and troops in Kiev were wiped out, though it is reported that many of them did not notice. Dudley takes Venice and Normandy - Dudley's Mounties used a variety of tricks in Normandy to capture the entire garrison intact. In Venice, they used the more conventional approach of massively outnumbering the defenders, who surrendered. Kashelo expands in Scotland - The Sea God assaulted Argyle and Inverness from land and sea, capturing both without a fight. One of the attacking armies reportedly contained a dozen dragons. Along with agnostics, some of Vulcan's worshippers were converted or killed. Vulcan and Mercanna attack Crispin - A joint invasion of Annaba by both Vulcan's and Mercanna's forces succeeded in wiping out the defenders with artillery and over 20 giants. The assault came from both east and west, as well as from the sea. Meanwhile, another of Vulcan's armies invaded Tripoli. The attacking force first had to get through 3 warships guarding the coast; rocs were used to accomplish this, but two invading cargo ships were lost. A priest parted water, helping the stranded troops to shore. Once there, extra cavalry were summoned to make up for the losses at sea, and the invasion was successful. STANDINGS Yes, it's that time again. The Pantheon One True Faith game #4 Beyugias dissolves - In an apparent accident involving a substance called "Dip", the Cartoon God disappeared almost as soon as He arrived on Erth. His worshippers are still around, adding to the Evil cosmic balance, and Evil deities will convert them at double the normal rate. His priests and temples will remain active. Agape calls it quits - The Goddess of Love found the rough-and- tumble world of Erth too full of strife, and has departed this plane. Her worshippers will remain until converted, adding to the Good side of the Cosmic Balance. Her priests and population will preach but will not work; in most ways they are treated like agnostics. Good deities convert Lovers at double the normal rate. Anti-Tinuviel heretics become more flexible - Tinuviel's restriction on converting Twisted Elves has been lifted; She may now preach to them as to any other Evil culture. (No, she does not receive any bonus in dealing with them). Transylvania captured by Halthor - In a bloodless coup, Halthor disabled and captured the agnostic vampire priest who ruled Transylvania, sending an army in from Wallachia to secure control of the province. Beyugias' northern holdings lost - Halthor sent an invasion from Fyn into Jutland, while Tinuviel ordered an army from Brunswick into Holstein, carving up Beyugias' holdings and meeting at the border. It is unknown whether the joint assault was coordinated or coincidental. Both attacking armies were relatively unharmed; Tinuviel recruited many of the resisting units, while Halthor was forced to kill the forces opposing Him. Joss captured Budapest from Agape - Distraught over their Goddess' failure to protect them, the Lovers of Budapest surrendered to the God of Fortune's army as it marched in from Balaton.
